Tangerine Dream still goes on with Edgar and son Jerome, plus others (can't tell you who though)
For me Tangerine Dream stopped being Tangerine Dream when Chris Franke left in '87. Their music since then just hasn't interested me at all.

Sounds like TD, they were all over feature films in the mid 80's,it's probably some left over piece, sounds like it could have been from Legend if it is even TD. Reminds me more of something from the "Firestarter" soundtrack.. Legend/ 86 era TD didn't really use much of the repeated sequenced lines...

I didn't really set out to emulate the exact Jump patch, but was just testing out the Jupiter 8V to see how it fares against a real analog, and used the Van Halen riff as a familiar test melody. I messed about again with 8V and stuck on a touch of reverb, and some chorus... http://www.zshare.net/aud...

Loads of early Tangerine Dream used the Mellotron.. Rubycon, Ricochet, Encore, but for me my fav Mellotron album is Edgar Froese "Epsilon in Malaysian Pale"....so haunting with those flutes, strings and brass....

Jupiter 8V Jump patch (mp3)

I know its been done a million times before on loads of synths, but I was messing about with an edited Jupiter 8V factory patch and came up with this http://www.zshare.net/audio/4343000ea53e4f/ Just a simple bounce down in Logic, with no effects on the Jupiter 8V. I think it sounds pretty meaty... F...

that Kavinsky track is merciless
I'd never heard of Kavinsky so I checked out his myspace page. Really nice driving '80s synths and electro fuelled beats. Like it lots.
A quick net search seems to show he's using Logic and FM7.
Nice stuff

I've heard somewhere that Black Dog Productions used this ton on Bytes. Any truth to that ?? 100% correct. I think most of the time they just used presets off it, and some of the solo Balil stuff uses Matrix 1000 on "whirling of spirits" and "Choke and fly" When Andy and Ed left BD, they loved the ...

Has anyone found any links with demos/ mp3's etc of the Jupiter 8V?
I've been searching for days, but so far with no luck. I did see someone mention that there was one up at Yamaha.com/namm, but I couldn't see any... unless they were on a wind up?

The new version is in AU format, and its MacIntel compatible UB.
