My collection is complete

I just bought a DX7 on ebay, which arrived today. I think it'll fill the last hole in my collection. Of course, there are other synths I want but that's a whole different story. Anyway, does anyone have any advice for a DX noob?

+1 for the SHS-10. But I have to say, it's what got me started. It was my first keyboard, and oddly enough, I still have it. I don't use it, really, but I keep thinking about circuit bending it. Then I see how much it sells for on ebay, and I have second thoughts. Oddly enough, I tried to sell it at...

I recall hearing something about an Emulator III hoax that caused lots of people to cancel orders for the Emulator II. I think an Emulator III eventually was released, but at the time, there was no intention of releasing a new Emulator model. I don't remember where I read this. Someone mind checking...

I'd say do it. The sonic possibilities are greatly enhanced, which I personally would pay more for. I got my poly-800 free, so I didn't think much of it. But then I had it modded, and I'm so glad I didn't get rid of it now.

'81. Same year as the Moog Rogue. I don't know what else, I just simply noticed when I got mine that it was the same age as me.

My first was a Moog Rogue in 2002. I was 21 at the time and had been playing with nothing but various Yamaha PSRs and a digital piano. Oddly enough, I'd never heard of the idea of shaping your own sounds, or of monosynths. So when it arrived and I first started using it, I was very disappointed. Thi...

A bit difficult to answer, really. I'd narrow it down to two:

V-synth. Most versatile I own. I'm always surprised at what it can do.

Moog Rogue. Most inspiring. I don't know why, but my best ideas always come from it.

From what I understand, it's an easy mod. I don't know much about electronics, so I'm not going to attempt it myself. However, I asked my dad if it would be difficult, and after looking at the page told me it would be easy. When he's done, I'll try test it out and see how it sounds. Question for rad...

I use a Boss DR-770. I'd like to get a Roland TD-20 eventually.

Nothing beats a well-tuned (and taken-care of) grand piano.
but also:

Strings. I use strings in just about everything.
Square waves for some reason.
The voice in Halcyon + on + on always gives me chills.

There's so many more, but that's all I can think of right now.
