one shitty christmas song challenge using a Linn 9000.
Kind of niche market there, no?
Not if you use Linn 9000 samples. ;)

Re: Variations Competition: Winner

Sorry to be late to the party, but family obligations kept me off here for awhile. Anyway, this doesn't exactly feel like "victory" but at least the project was fun to work on. I don't think the theme of the contest was the problem. It's a great idea, but it seems folks around here got caught up in ...

Re: What Synth has the most Mojo?

Back when I had it, the Moog Rogue used to be pure mojo. Now I can do more with an MG-1, but I just don't get the same sense of instant inspiration from it.

Re: Destroy your Synth-Pop idols

If we get enough of these threads, we'll soon be able to have a "deathmatch thread" deathmatch. Which thread destroys all the others?

*Disclaimer: I voted anyway. Even if they're pointless, they're fun. Keep 'em coming :P

Re: "The pre-MIDI era" questions

I'm sure if CV/gate was my ONLY option I'd hate it to pieces. But knowing that MIDI is available when I need it, CV is fun to mess with. I only have one analog now, so there's really nothing I can do. But at the peak of my gear collecting, I used to connect together 2 ARP Axxes, an ARP Little Brothe...

Desmond may be a bit over the top with his JMJ hatred, but I like his next game idea.

Re: How many hardware synths do you own?

If I just count hardware synths (including drum machines and samplers) I have nine. If I include hardware INSTRUMENTS, the number jumps to around 20. And I have the opposite problem. A few of the instruments I own my girlfriend had to convince me to get them. The majority of them are rather cheap, t...

Which is why I find this competition appealing. I've already scored a few amateur films that a friend has shot.

Re: VSE Variations Competition - September 2014

I'm a bit confused. Following on from the "Switched On" competition... The theme can be anything you wish, in any style you like, as long as it's easily recognisable . Does this mean variations on an already existing theme, or can we compose the theme that will run through each variation? Doing vari...

Re: arturia poly synth......when is the ?

They've done the microbrute, so the only way is up really. No room for a nanobrute? ;) The mini and micro are already very feature rich, so technically, they COULD go down rather than up. Not saying they should, and I doubt they will. I think we'll see a 2 VCO brute before they go poly. But I certa...
