Re: DSI Prophet 8

@gd I'm pretty sure that the Tetra's sub oscillators and feedback functions are unavailable when you connect it to a Prophet '08. Both the Tetra's and the Mopho's extra features are not compatible with the Prophet '08. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I thought that that would happen only if using ...

Re: DSI Prophet 8

Soundwave thank-you so much for your review and comparison - I can only go by memory of playing the MM from the early 80's and it also had some severe tuning issues. I am planning on picking up a Tetra to chain with my P08. I have a feeling that adding the sub osc. will add a lot to the sound charac...

Re: NEW DSI Tetr4 -4 voices of Mopho In a Box!

Good to know, I wonder why so different than the P08's. I will eventually get a Tetra to chain with my P08 but I have so many other things that need to get done first and everytime I thought I decided which synth to sell I find a reason to keep it.

Re: Prophet 08 knob question

I look fwd to seeing your pics with the red wheels. I'll get around to ordering the pot kit as the enoder issues do lead to frustration but right now I am tied up with other things that take priority.

Re: Much reason to get a Little Phatty if you've got Minimoog?

I have owned my miniD for 35 yrs. now, I bought a Voyager AE when they came out looking to retire the miniD. I kept the AE for a few years but in the end it went and the miniD stayed. For me I just like the sound of the old gal better, the Voyager is one impressive instrument and I liked it better t...

Re: Sounds made easy : SR-JV80-04 and 08

these 2 cards are the reason I have 2 JD 990's. :D Now that I've been given a Fantom X6 I will have to find a way to transfer all the sounds from these 2 cards and the JP8080 to it to cut down on some gear - I need easy suggestions pls.as I'd like to minimize my rig.

Re: A question to Prophet 08 owners /noisy phone output

Can't figure out what happened with mine then as it has all the other issues related to the pots, but somehow missed this one - damn I must have gotten a defective one  With the pots, deoxit did work great however and I am going to give the params pots another shot of it as they can still get a...

Re: Best new analog Polysynths

DSI has just aded another wrinkle into your quest as by adding a Tetra 4 to a P 08 you can have 12 voices and a huge number of sequences running etc. There are plenty of used P08's out there for @ $1500 or so - the choice btn the A6 and P 08 just got a little tougher for you but that is the fun part...

mao, I understand what you are saying the only retort I have is based on the fact that I hope with the increase in profit from this unit that this will keep Dave and co. in production and continue R&D on new analogue products for us all.

Re: Dumbest thing you've ever heard someone say about synths

I remember mid '70s some lounge lizard who knew the promoter coming up to my rig during a soundcheck and telling me that something is wrong with that little organ 'cause it ain't playin' cords and screaches somethin awful. I just said that would have to send it back to Moog to fix - in reference to ...
