Re: How have Arturia Origin sales been?

Definately tough economic times to sell this synth, on the other hand I hear that the much lower priced Plugiator is doing very well.

Re: Prophet 08'

I totally agree with your assertion Otto! I had a Voyager AE and was just not happy with it since I have owned my miniD for more than 30 years now. With the P08 I didn't want a P5 clone so for me I am happy with the differences in sound and the new features. I think that one of the issues that ppl. ...

Re: Prophet 08'

The first time I demo'd the P08 I was disappointed to say the least, I had just sold my JP8 that I had owned for 20 years. I kept going back to play read the manual, and started programming some sounds. I ended up trading my Voyager AE for a P08 (+ cash to me) from a guy who had owned it for less th...

Re: anyone own a korg radias? i have a question!

I have the kybd and sure wish they would have made a 61 key one instead, at least it is nice and light to cart around. I've owned mine since they first came out and like it more today than when I first got it.

Re: tube amps

I maybe getting a little bit confused here but you're talking some extreme tube power here for your own rig to compete with the guitar amps etc. The sound has to be pretty muddy with everyone vying to be heard over everyone else. How big of venues are you talking about as well - how are you mixing y...

Re: tube amps

Back in the day (always wanted to use that stmt.) I used to run my rhodes, miniD ,mellotron through a blackface dual showman and the chopped B3 through the Leslie all mic'd out to the main bd. I now run all my synths through a 16 channel mixer into a Speakeasy Stereo Classic Tube Pre rack - Dave Bry...

Re: Coming soon:Mellotron Documentary

Somehow I thought my bud Brian would have a hand in this! I hope that it is as good as his books. Brian also sat in for Rabbit for The Who's N. Am. part of the 2006 tour - great guy, phenominal artist.

Re: Finally owning a fat, big polysynth!

When The Source came out most of us said "what"? and then it had the McDonalds type touch surface, I still having owned one am not a big fan of that Moog, glad I kept the miniD. At least the LP looks like a Moog.

Re: Finally owning a fat, big polysynth!

Congrats, I've owned mine for 5 months now and enjoy it more today than when I first acquired it. In fact I traded a guy for it his 1 week old P 08 + $600 for my Voyager AE that I'd had for 3 years. There are a few quirks with the P 08 with randomly changing values but it is one lovely analogue synt...

Re: Heart - Magic Man synthesizer solo

I've read somewhere that Howard Leese double-tracked the Minimoog for the solo on "Magic Man". Many years ago Howard told me that he had originally done the solo on the MiniD but once in the studio the miniD was double tracked "added with another Moog that was there" - celebutante is likely dead on...

Re: John Bowen Solaris Synthesizer, heard of it?

I am just greatful that the boutique synth makers are here and putting out new gear. It can only make for better and more sound options for us. I am eagerly awaiting my chance to demo the Solaris as I did the P08.
