Re: Hybrid Synths - cheaper poly analog?

I can highly recommend the Korg DW-8000, it does excellent bread n butter Analog sounds and is pretty easy to program. Its Digital side is also impressive, the choir/vox sounds and pads are gorgeous. Out of the cheap Analog Poly's i really like the Roland JX-3P. It sounds a little brighter than a Ju...

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini

I phoned my music shop today (Production Room in Leeds) for an availability update, its looking like July / August we get them in Yorkshire, UK now. Korg are sending just a few over at the moment for reviewers and establishment, to create a large demand amongst musicians.

Now that it's May i'm getting very excited about my pre-ordered MS20 Mini. The shop in Leeds says they are expecting pre-ordered units in mid May :)

Re: What are your favorite type of synth sounds?

I really love band-pass filter bass sounds, the CS-40M i had was incredible as you could have 2 unfiltered sine waves under the BPF. Sounded so massive and its a favourite feature on my Andromeda. Going to buy a CS-15 in the next 2 months

Re: When did arpeggiators start showing up?

The RMI does indeed beat the JP4 by a few years. The Jupiter-4 was a lot of peoples first experience with an arpeggiator and was quite successful, thats why its often said to be the first.

Re: When did arpeggiators start showing up?

The Roland Jupiter-4 was one of the first synths to feature an arpeggiator. Its a very unique one too, that has no octave control and arpeggiates the keys above the one you last depressed. I believe it was a CV controller that predates the JP4 that had the first arpeggiator. Can't remember who manuf...

Re: Korg M500 Micro Preset

I'll obviously play one or two OMD lead lines when i demo it on youtube, haha ;) It is indeed a limited, but a warm sounding little 'players' synth is what iv been looking for. Will add some charm and melody to my atmospheric recordings

Iv just bought my first analogue monosynth in 2 years, a fully serviced M500SP off ebay. Always loved the sound of this little beauty, anyone had any experience with one on here? Mine arrives monday, can't wait to play with it :)

Re: Synths that you loved before, but have now gone off

Korg M1 - Used to love this board but a year after owning it i got bored of the limited programming and the fact the sounds relied too much on FX. Sold it and haven't looked back, got back into my Roland W-30 and am getting some beautiful sounds out of it Casio CZ-5000 - Lusted for one for about a y...
