That sounds like a latency problem. Have you reduced the buffer to 128. I think the Mbox default to a buffer size of 512. The mbox cannot go lower than 128 but at this setting you should not get that big reverb you are hearing. Even if you are experiencing latency this should only be on input and yo...

JS do you have a standing wave. Those BM5a's are reknowned for their bass. The bass should be massive. All the equipment you have is of good quality so you should be getting decent levels without cranking things. When you move around the room does the bass move from very little bass to tons of bass....

Whenever you're syncing things you should give them 2 to 5 or so seconds to lock together properly before you have any sounds that need to be in sync. If you leave 2 or 4 bars empty at the start you should be fine. I personally always let tools be the master in those sorts of situations and haven't...

MPC 2000 and MMC/MTC

A friend wanted to sync Pro-Tools to his MPC so as the transport controls on the MPC would control Pro-Tools. We set it up and it worked. The MPC is the MTC+MMC master and PTools is the slave. I put PT into sync, record enabled a track and knocked the transport into record ready. When I press play o...

anybody else notice a latency in the attack VST when using any out other than the main stereo out... when I use it there's a noticable latency that slurs the hits and seems to create a kind of phase problem... I can use indidual outs in the impusle no problem and even in stuff I designed in synthedi...

Re: Can VSTi's be played in realtime?

My soundcard has ASIO, but doesn't support it fully--there is no ASIO configuration program. Not really sure what this means but yes you can play VSTs in realtime. You need a decent asio driver which usually comes with a decent soundcard. The RAM and Processor comes into play but with a simple synt...

Do it right: Metric Halo 2882 Do it right on the "cheap": MOTU w/Black Lion mods. I chose those two because you use a Mac, and their drivers are the business. If RME had really solid Mac drivers, I for sure would include them as well. That all said, at the end of the day, your A/D is vitally import...

I use the Ultralite... no complaints. Very stable with great fast drivers. Super tiny and portable and you can daisychain several of them to get higher track counts.... Are the Mic preamps decent or good? or would I need to buy something like the FMR audio RNP? I think they're good. Clean, detailed...

I use both Korg MicroKontrol and Kontrol 49. Both are excellent. The Kontrol 49 has good keyboard feel but generally I am more interested in the knobs and faders and pads....

Anyone know of any that are like doepfer or analog systems Where you could pick from different modules and then patch away? Synthedit... It can be hard to get synthedit to sound great (it'll sound good but it's tough to get it to sound great) but it is a lot of fun and very easy to use. I think onc...
