Re: Baby Elephant: Turn My Teeth Up!

Any of you synth heads listening to this album? Lots of cool synth playing by Bernie Worrell. Arp 2500 / 2600, Minimoog, Voyager, Korg MS-20, PS-3100, and SB-100, Synton Syrinx, Hammonds, Hohners, etc in use. Kind of like a cross between Prince Paul produced De la Soul and Funkadelic...though that ...

I was looking into it a bit more... Cheers Carey for the link to the DSP Usage charts. I have used the URS EQ's and comps and they are really sweet. I am just sick of my computer crappin' out all the time so.. i thought DSP cards :) I want some guaranteed horse power under the hood. The PoCo looks g...

The AS Red Square is a semi-modular and costs $1099.

There is no modular for $500... Maybe buy a case and a filter and then start building one up.

Cheers Carey...

I know I will prefer the UAD it's just a bit more expensive and I've read that to really get the benefit from them you need to get at least 2 cards.
Did you find you needed 2 cards to get enough DSP horsepower or were you ok with just the one?

That is the ugliest looking rack I've ever seen in my life. I dunno I think it looks pretty cool... Like it's from outer space. Outer space in a lame 80's sci-fi flick? Looks like it should be in a bat cave. I think it's unbelievably cool. One of the coolest looking synths I've ever seen. It is ver...

UAD-1 - PoCo - Liquid Mix - which for synths???

Hello all, Just wondering if anybody has experience with any of these DSP cards. I have seen debates on other forums but usually they revolve around recording rock instruments. I was wondering if people here might have experience with them on the more production side of things. Especially beat and s...

I have bad experience with MicroKontrol. It's flimsy, 3 pots are f**k already and they haven't had abusive heavy use. Also the drumpads are very unresponsive for me. I might press the same pad twice in fast succession and I'd only hear one drum sound... crappy. Also the pads feel a bit gummy for my ...

Fpr me I'd love Arp 2600 - that ones been on the fantasy wish list for a long time. Too expensive, too unpredictable and I'd probably have to ship it to the UK everytime it needed repair... someday though maybe. Of course in fantasy land it has to come with the sequencer :) TR-808 - I'd love an 808....

Win98 only... which is a bit c**p.

There's an article in this months Sound On Sound all about free sequencers... they spend a fair bit of time on Seq 24 http://filter24.org/seq24/
