I would love audio in to use some of their effects like Scream. I understand what you're after, but there are better effects on the market than what Reason offers. Maybe you could look at some dedicated effects stuff. Peter Tools is a 3rd party extension for Reason. It allows live input to be proce...

A few synths can do that. The BassStation Rack can do that... but it's a lot cheaper.... the evolvers can do it as well.

nothing too special... especially seeing as there is no rack version...

Still if you had 4 Phattys you could have a laugh for half hour.

The best out of the box solution I've used, not discounting the very powerful Tassman, is the Synful Orchestra vst. It does not use Physical Modelling but something called Reconstructive Phrase Modelling (RPM) and a type of additive synthesis. The Phrase Database contains musical phrases for each in...

I've never used anything else to sequence music other than a computer. It was about 5/6 years after I started sequencing music before I realised that you could in fact do it without a computer. I love using Ableton but as my studio expands outside the box Ableton becomes more and more unreliable. Th...

2 video clips of the blofeld from some lads at waldorf. It's in german but it's not so bad.

HERE is the link.

I've wanted it since I seen it first. The power of the micro q in a desktop portable synth. I'm sold... as long as they keep it under €500.

Vapourware that never materialised

I thought it might be an idea for a fun thread. I haven't seen it about. Vapourware that was promised and never materialised. A history of synths that could have been. I'll start with possibly the most controversial piece of vapourware The SMS2000 http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/6863/1447/400/177...

Sounds a bit lije an Emu Sampler or one of those Orbit units ... no Orbit until 1996 It sounds like an Ensoniq ESQ-1 or SQ80 piano sound (reminds of Adamski), but it's probably just a sample SL2 got from somewhere. Ya I reckon it's a sample, you hear the same sound in a lot of old hardcore... but t...

Can the Xbase also produce a 808 kick??? Well it gets you close, the 999 supposedly has a switchable envelope for a 909 or a 808 but the 09 can do a decent emulation non the less. But I really like it for it's own sound, I never use it for 909-ish kicks. The airbase has that function. It doesn't so...

A lot of samplers have it as an additional add-on card. The Akai series had the extra outs on an expansion card. Same with the Yamaha A3000. I think one of the MPC's is already fully expanded.. is it the MPC2500 that has all the outs already-not sure. I don't think you can expand the out on the MPC5...
