Re: Moog new "Little Secret"

I use everything from software to hardware keyboards to a (mostly) analog modular, but I remain skeptical of the iPad as a musical tool. I bought one and wound up returning it because it just seems incapable of running anything up to par with my computer sound quality wise, and the multitouch screen...

Re: Moog new "Little Secret"

well, to me it makes perfect sense that a guy who avoids VSTs would be amazed by an iPad music app which is roughly the specs of a VST from 2003... It just took having 'moog' printed on it to get over the bias...

Re: Zebralette is now FREE

Zebralette is basically a single zebra oscillator with the interface expanded to the entire window and a few modulation sources added... Because its possible to do all sorts of fx like filtering inside the oscillator it's basically an entire additive/wavetable synth (drawing your own waves!) similar...

I'd use this if it were to be released.

Re: Will FM ever be sought after ???

I'm not a huge fan of the hertz donut sound examples I've heard so far (all too harsh generally for me - but that's kinda the point with the harvestman)... I certainly am not an analogue purist so I'd be more than open to the idea of a thru-zero digital approach, the problem is that high quality thr...

Re: Will FM ever be sought after ???

the zeroscillator also does reversing sync, waveform morphing, and quadrature operation... It's probably the most flexible oscillator available in modulars. It's pretty damn far from a 'one trick pony'. The only thing holding me back from owning one atm is that the euro version costs more than the o...

Re: Will FM ever be sought after ???

Well, you could always just buy multiple zeroscillators (you only need them for carriers, any ol' osc can act as the modulator - my personal favourite is to use a wavetable osc as modulator... By combining wavetables with FM you can get much more complex results with fewer operators than your usual ...

Re: Polysix vs Polivoks

Just thought I'd chime in to say that if the 'saturated nature of its filter' is your main draw in, you may want to check out how the harvestman sells that filter in module form (supposed to be doing the oscillator at some point too)

Re: Just a fun little guess the synth clip

yeah, for really basic sounds like this I don't think it really matters that much what synth you use. I personally would probably go to zebra 2 for this sound, but I know that isn't what this is (as I don't think zebra is in the database)... I'm gonna guess ESQ-1, just because I could get that tone ...

has anyone here ever played an AX73? Is its comparable to a proper master keyboard in terms of key weighting and feel?

Re: If Korg can make a Monotron that sells for $65...

Asys actually does make an emulation of the ESP don't they? It's definitely more than possible to replicate the ESP in modularland.

though really, I'm of the opinion that if you want an MS-20, but a damn MS-20

Re: Favorite Analog Software Synth?

Olga, Fabfilter One/Twin, U-he Zebra 2 are all very nice sounding synths that work within an analog paradigm (zebra goes beyond, but only if you want it to) If you have a nice computer with cpu power to burn, go for fxpansion synth squad... If that doesn't make your computer sweat you could even go ...
