Re: eventide pitch factor alternatives

is software an option? Loomer Audio Shift is the closest thing I've found to a pitchfactor... Still trying to decide if I want to spring for the hardware or settle for the software though.

Synths with weighted keys and aftertouch?

Basically I want my next "master keyboard" to have 88 weighted keys and aftertouch, because I'm taking lessons and actually getting into proper piano technique now and need something better than an SL61 to practice on... So my question is whether I can also get a sound engine in the thing rather tha...

Re: what are the coolest/strangest modular hardware sounds?

People who are designing sound with modulars tend to be people who want to author the sound, and in that case, flaws and coloration are irritating. I don't know about you, but if I'm using a modular and it's giving the sound a quality I am not choosing through patching and setting choices, I'm goin...

I haven't used the real thing, but the thing that got me closest to the tr/tb sounds I personally was looking for were the d16 stuff.

Re: n00b on Live looking for advice

In general yeah, my main advice would be to not think of midi tracks and audio tracks as necessarily separate throughout their entire lifetime. Feel free to render an operator midi loop into an audio loop and slice it up, etc.

Re: Soft synth D/A question

another note is that when it comes to actual processing and synthesis a higher sample rate matters a lot more than just with recorded audio. It's not just a case of "oh, 44.1 can reproduce any frequency in human hearing, so it's all good" because a lot of actual dsp algos don't perform the same at a...

Re: NI Massive - anyone?

komplete really is a MUCH better deal than buying individuals, so if you want kontakt, reaktor, guitar rig, fm8, etc. at all it's worth the bundle price... Massive is my favorite in the bundle personally though. Guitar Rig is pretty nice to have too though (for all sorts of processing, especially si...

Re: Comments on FabFilter Products?

Yeah, it really comes down to: If you like their somewhat subtle (by comparison to reallll ripper types) filters, you'll like their synth, filter plugin (durrr), and delay, because they're all based on their (imo pretty darn good) filter design.

Re: Comments on FabFilter Products?

try the demos! I personally like their products, but both in interface and in sound they are not for everyone (not as "bright" as some people like, generally more "smooth", really flexible in some areas while being much less flexible in others rather than being overall simple or overall complex, uni...

Re: Best deal on Eurorack casing/psu + midi to cv

So after looking into things a bit more, I'm thinking I could save oodles of cash building the case myself (I get wood for free basically through my father's work, they need obscenely large pieces for the work they do, so I can get pretty large pieces that no one but them would ever consider "scrap"...
