Re: Allow me to be the first to b***h about the new Macbooks

The 15 inch macbook pros are 1440x900 if you want to compare that to the res on your dell. I've found a lot of PCs that have a slightly larger screen than my macbook pro but a lower resolution personally.

Re: How have Arturia Origin sales been?

I played one for a bit in guitar center... my major issue with it is that it sounds exactly like thier vsts... Really ? I'm surprised you've actually tried it? For the Arturia Origin - but also the Moog Modular V2, Prophet VS, Jupiter 8 and Arp 2600 - I can assure you that the sound is very differe...

Re: Are virtual analogs just soft synths with their own...

Still waiting for someone to recommend me a virtual analogue software plugin to try that will live up to my experience with hardware.. cmon guys.. if they exist, just tell me where to look. Vember Audio Surge (I love it, sonically it's similar to my old nord lead 2x, but feature wise it's closer to...

Re: Sequencer Software

My personal favs are Ableton Live and Numerology from extensively demoing them (and using a cut down version of live that came with some hardware), but at the moment the only one I possess is Logic, as at the time I felt I needed a more "conventional" DAW program in order to more easily collaborate ...

Re: tdm plugin for vocal processing (NIN specific)

f**k was basically made to make fun of marilyn manson, so like his vocals, it involves tons of track comping with each word in a line from a different take and such.

Re: Allow me to be the first to b***h about the new Macbooks

And they've fixed them up! I'm glad Apple actually listen to their customers. The Macbook is now a Macbook Pro 13" and has Firewire 800. It's quite a bit cheaper over here too, thanks to the dollar recovering a bit since the last new Apple product release. All is well in the world. Yeah, the new si...

Re: VST filters - Who's got the best Filter plugin?

Runciter, Filterscape, and Quad Frohmage here. Quad Frohmage is probably my fav for more traditional filter effects, filterscape for the crazy morphing filters and filtered delays, and runciter for a really grungy distortion/filter combo.

Re: I want to get rid of my Little Phatty, but first...

I'd look at U-He's Zebra 2. Not at all like the moog LP architecture wise (much more flexible) but the XMF filter is modeled from one (a moog LP), and there have been numerous blind A/B tests both online and at the musikmesse and namm shows where no one could tell the difference.

Re: Ableton Live 8 - WOW!

Welcome, you're now one of the enlightened! Live is fantastic for manipulating audio and midi, it's the ultimate sequencer/sampler. Well I'm still switching between Logic and Live but Live gets more of my time with every version. I'm hoping that they take midi to the next level with Live 9, then it...

well, nithonat will be AU as soon as it's released.

It's probably also the one out of the three that I want the most, and the cheapest. I think its pretty much a no brainer for me.

Re: Akai MINIAK

Does the micron have all the parallel filters and FX that this new one is boasting? I have to say, the 2 mod wheels are pretty sweet. Hopefully they improved the vocoder (not just on paper either) Yes, the micron has two filters that can be used serially, in parallel, or a mix of the two, and also ...

Re: Live 8 is announced

they'll only give the upgrade for free since he got Live 7 so recently. that's normal policy. but why they throw in their 2 new instruments as well is something I don't really understand either... I'm guessing because it was Live 7 Suite that was bought, and 8 Suite includes the new instruments? Th...
