Re: $100 to waste on audio toy

Korg EA-1! The best 2 track midi mono synth/sequencer/bitcrusher/filter/distortion with clock sync'd mod delay/chorus/flanger and recordable motion sequences ever conceived at that price. I don't like the synth's sound much but they can do amazing things as processors the option would be apparent fo...

Re: Newbie looking at buying E-mu sampler needs help????

Hardware samplers sound incredibly cool in theory, but they're kind of a hassle in practice. Just realize that there will be lots of menu diving and you will most likely have to do all editing from the front panel and tiny screen, so you'd better plan on locating somewhere that will be directly in f...

The desktop evo has a 3x16 parameter sequencer
Route each of the channels to an independent osc's semitone detune and you can have pseudopolyphonic sequences on it

they start shipping July 30th 2008. Regardless of that statistic, the point of my post was that you can purchase one NOW. As the ebay post would indicate. Or am I somehow wrong? Apparently Tokyo Bookshop got some earlier than that as they are now selling them on ebay. I purchased one and then I got...

Untouchable is very wrong. The softsynth you might be trying to use to reproduce the patch could possibly be incapable of doing so, but if so, that has nothing to do with the fact that it's a softsynth and not analog. There are very many digitals out there that could fool anyone in a lot of instance...

Yamaha a3000 OS v2.0 upgrade?

I just bought an a3000 on ebay, the OS version wasn't given in the auction, but being a pessimist, I expect 1.0. I can find absolutely no information about updating the OS on the internet aside from an SOS review of the new OS which just gives a yamaha number to call about buying the update for 100 ...

You're going to need one with a sequencer, I reckon.
Get a Korg ES-1, it's actually a rhythm sampler, not exactly a drum machine, but it's pretty versatile, easy to use, and FUN.
Totally in your price range as well.

Budget? It could be worth looking at something that has a little bit of flavour to it, like a tube pre that has a digital out. The dbx 386(? not sure if that's the exact model number) is decent and not too exxy. Edit: You do know that each S/PDIF in or out is stereo, right? ie Left and right going ...
