I guess people aren't clicking this link, each time I post it, when Tom Oberheim is brought up:

OK - so it's not an analog hardware synth, but I don't think he's retired, while working with MuseResearch on the Receptor.

When someone badmouths a whole manufacturer's line, because they had a bad experience with one of their products.

When someone says they don't like a synths presets, but can't program sounds they do like by themself.

I think the Blofeld is going to be a mighty fine little synth. But I do pretty much agree with T7. I don't like to see manufacturers add extra software goodies, only to skimp on the hardware. Most of the software work was already done with the microQ and XT. They just had to design a new case/displa...

Extra points if you can name the keyboard synth in the top right corner (probably impossible, so don't try too hard!) ;)

OK - thanks.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see exactly what they are when they come out.

The way Waldorf's put it, it seems like the Blofeld is basically the Q/uQ, but with all of the XT's wavetables. OK then, let's put it another way. If you had a Q/uQ that has all the XT wavetables, would there be any major differences between that and an XT? I have a Q rack, but never had an XT - so...

Does anyone know what the differences are between the XT and the Blofeld?

The info available is a little sketchy.

Re: DSP revolution?

The coming Waldorf Blofeld had me thinking; due to the incredibly low price tag .... Any thoughts? I think I must be really cheap, because it would have to cost about $99 for me to consider it an " incredibly low price tag ". About USB - I don't think it matters how many iterations of it may ...

Dave stated in a few interviews that he doesn't care for software, and I think he's finished with it after his experiences with 'Reality'. I'd like to see digital additive oscillators with multi-mode analog filters. But going by what he's done so far, I'd think we'll see a mono keyboard P01K, a mono...

The Ion has some things that you don't see too often in other VA's. For starters there's the tracking generator. The sample and hold is useful too. Pre and post filter mixing and panning options are great. You get your choice of linear or exponential FM. You also get your choice of hard or soft sync...

Virus TI.

They call it the 'index', (position within the wavetable), and it's one of the modulation destinations.
