Re: What would you sell to help fund andromeda, if u were me?

The obvious answer is to get rid of whatever you use the least. It's possible to be real attached to a piece that isn't used as much as others though, so you've got to consider that too. If it were mine though: 66 space Modular Synthesizer(.Com,Motm,Encore,Blacet), - keep FR Mobius, - keep Yamaha DX...

Re: what is the best synthesizer from the 2000's (2000-2010) ?

....physical modelling sample synthesis? Can you give a quick description of "physical modelling sample synthesis"? Most people know the individual terms - 'physical modelling', 'sampling', and 'synthesis'. From what I remember of the Neuron, they basically gave new terms to established techniques....

Pretty sure that everything mentioned in the last 2 posts was introduced before 2000.

Can't really think of any noteworthy new technique or feature that was introduced since 2000.

When you download the demo for this new softsynth, it comes with a warning that it's very cpu intensive:

Re: How did the Alesis Fusion end up?

I've still got my 6HD. It's an excellent synth with tons of features. Can't really comment on the workstation functions because I don't use them. I think if I ever run across an 8HD for a good price I'll pick it up.

Instead of trading, maybe you should consider getting an Ion in the future to control your Blofeld. They'd make a fine pair.

Re: how to sync analog LFO's

... the Xpander manual refers to a "trigger Input " that can "trigger LFOs, envelopes etc" but i can't figure out how to get the LFOs triggered by this input... maybe i'm conceptually misunderstanding what they mean, but i'm hoping i can get the LFOs to sync in time with cubase.. then i'd control t...

Re: Yamaha - enemies of synthsis!

One thing I'll add praising past Yamaha synths is the Yamaha AN virtual analog synths. The AN1X was one of the earliest hardware VAs that I can think of after the Nord Lead I but I'd still say that to my ear the AN synths are among the most organic-sounding I've heard. (...although the limited inte...

Re: Yamaha - enemies of synthsis!

I suspect something happened with the EX5 that scared them away from synths. With the EX5 they took a battering from the Internet on its low DSP capabilities and I believe it caused them to run scared from synths; while also striking gold with the Motif as a "bread and butter" gigging workstation.....

It sounds great, and is really a super deal. I doubt if it'll be developed too much more, if at all, but take it for what it is now.

They say no op was made to fix this ? I had both the AN200 and the DX200 and neither of mine ever did that. I heard a lo...

Re: Virus TI: Usb Control, Analog Audio

... For example, even though the TI uses 192 kHz, 24 bit converters for the analog outputs and 44.1 kHz, 16 bit for the USB, why would Access send more bits to the analog D/A conv. than to the USB outs? Are those converters really clocked at 192 kHz? ... I brought this up at one of the Access forum...
