Dr Peake you sound like the kind of guy I could talk about synths with for hours.......over a few beers. DS Having mentioned that I'm an alcoholic and that it's a fatal disease, I find that quite humorous. I get a lot of that ;-) ..... #253 - 'It could be worse' http://www.geocities.com/HotSprings/...

Mods are one of the things I like most about Alesis boards. Andromeda's pretty obvious. Ion's almost as good, and the little Micron ain't no slouch either. The Fusion has a surprising amount of mod sources, including the 8 envelopes and 8 lfo's. Others would be: Kurzweil K series, Matrix 12/Xpander....

My Micron doesn't blow me. :(

onosendai: 'blows me away' = overwhelmingly impressive.

'blow me' = something else.

I'm just glad Alesis made the A6, and I hope they continue to do so for a long time.
It's a great board.

It's expensive, but it's the only digital modular soft/hard keyboard I know of. There's lots of digital modular software programs, but I don't know of any others that can load their sounds into a keyboard that can be used standalone. I'm not that familiar with Kyma, but I think it's a digital modula...

Start here: http://www.sweetwater.com/k2000/home.html The OS version will show on the screen during boot up. It's contained in a hardware chip though, which you'll need to replace if you want to upgrade. They're getting a bit hard to find, and there's two different versions you need to be aware of. ...

Re: PLEASE HELP! Brand New Alesis Micron Doesn't seem 2b wor

.... basicly i got the synth plugged in and all (just the synth into an outlet nothing else).....( Well Cureme: The Micron doesn't have built-in speakers, so you're going to have to plug some headphones into the headphone jack, or get some speakers/monitors and run audio cables from the output jack...

I am happy with MIDI, and I´m glad it´s still around. You can connect a brandnew synth to an 80ies synth, and you can connect your 80ies synth to your computer... wonderful! And it is reliable, which can not be said of all protocols. That's what I think about midi also. I'd like to see something fa...

Good idea, but remember to set aside a few bucks for a midi merge unit, so you can use them together like they're one unit.

.... Regular aftertouch is nice especially if you don't have an expression pedal, but what it does is more or less a variation on what an experssion pedal or mod wheel does to a performance. It helps as every expression conntroller does but everything being played with your sound will do the same t...

 ha-ha. You're right. But did you look at it? Here's a  for Edirol.

On page 178, the midi implementation chart shows it sends note on, note off, key and channel aftertouch.

I never trust those charts anyways.
