Re: Virus TI and TI2 question

Thanks.

It's on page 5 now.

I haven't been using the TI much since I got a new computer. No Virus Control software for 64 bit pc.

I've even toyed with the idea of selling it because of that, but know I'd want to get another one whenever they finally get the 64 bit thing worked out.

Re: Virus TI and TI2 question

Guess I must be a little dense today. When I go into the private forum, it looks the same, with the same posts, number of areas, number of posts, and so on. The only difference is that you can post as well as read posts.
Still can't find it - oh well.

Re: Virus TI and TI2 question

Official word from access on their official forum is that they don't plan to phase out the TI1 and have TI2 specific features, both synths will receive all future upgrades Would you happen to have a link to the thread that was in? I did some browsing at the forum: http://www.virusti.com/forum/ but ...

That too, of course. :D

Re: Virus TI and TI2 question

Nothing really yet. But the extra processing power leaves room for more OS updates to the TI2 in the future.

'up to 25 voices' on the Micro-Q.

The manual explains which functions reduce the polyphony.

Re: Cold Weird Digital Synth Advice

....A Physical Modeling engine is quite rare and only very few synths have those functions, namely: Clavia Nord Modular G2 (a really nice string oscillator); Korg Z1 (and the MOSS engine); Roland V-Synth (on the COSM processors and the AP synthesis on the GT); Technics WSA1 (and I hope I am not for...

Re: Worth getting Blofeld if i already got a waldorf q?

Don't know, but I've been wondering the same thing myself.
I've got a Q rack, and have had a Micro-Q in the past.
Not much else compares in programming flexibility, and I'm sure the Blofeld is just as good in that respect.
The wavetables would probably give a lot of new timbres to work with.

Re: Cold Weird Digital Synth Advice

My picks for cold, weird, and digital would be:

Kawai K5000
Korg Z1
and
Yamaha FS1R

Waldorf Q and Micro-Q fit the bill too.

Re: Alesis USB-MIDI Cable Connects MIDI To Computers

USB/midi cables are fairly common. What I thought was kind of cool for cables from Alesis is their 'link' line:

Line link: http://www.alesis.com/linelink

and

Re: Virus C - Got any tips?

Modulating the delay time is always good for a WTF?
It works much nicer than most other synths.

Re: Virus C - Got any tips?

If you've got the keyboard version - set amplitude release time to max. Then in the mod matrix set a negative value for release velocity to mod the amp release till you get a nice snappy cutoff when you release the keys quick, and a nice long floaty release time when you release the keys slow. After...

Re: Just won a Yamaha EX5r on ebay

If you use the multi-mode, prepare to see the message 'DSP resources full' a lot. Don't count on it as an 'all sounds from one machine at once' unit at all. Loading samples is horribly slow. To get deep into the VL portion, you have to dig up a computer program that's about 12 years old and runs on ...
