Analog has it's character. Digital has it's character. Both sets of tools are useful so I use both. That's all.

figured I'd chime in as Im dealing with this stuff right now as well... I used to have an A-Station... then traded that in for a K-Station. Added a Xiosynth a little later. Recently decided I needed a little more for live use so I *JUST* bought a ks4 2 days ago to replace the two of them. Loading in...

I've got a functioning polaris. I'd be happy to give your plug in a spin and I can record samples of the polaris for you as well. If you want specific settings let me know and I can record things in a more controlled manner for you to use as a frame of reference. Just PM me with details... Rock! chvad

I have read that as well and also read heated debate arguing against that. I have two friends one with a 1000 and the other with a 6r... It'd be interesting to A/B them.

if you have the microwave attached to an external sequencer turn the echo off on the sequencer. What's your setup?

Funny thing about the MIDI implementation. I've borrowed a Matrix 1000, but I only get every second note I hit on the keys to create a sound. Does anyone recognize the problem? Is it just a matter of choosing MIDI channels? try re-sitting the chips. The sockets arent that great and can get corroded...

Ive got the latest OS installed so maybe that's it? I never used it with the old OS... first thing I did was update when I got it. I've also heard of the posp n clicks thingy but never experienced it. :?

I had the A-Station and traded it in for a K-Station. The menu diving in the A-Station can be a little tedious... I LOVE my K-Station though and use it a lot. I recently picked up a Xiosynth and it's a cool board. Still has a fair share of menu diving but it's a nice variation on the novation theme....

use Sony CD Architect. It does exactly what you are wanting to do and comes with Soundforge 9. Just open it up, load in your single large file, make track points... done. :)

The Akai S01 will boot without a floppy. 1 or 2 megs of RAM, 15 to 30 seconds, mono, 19" rack mount, easier to use than wiping yer bum.

I recently was shopping for a new reverb and the best one I found out of all the ones I demo'd (sub-$200.00) was the Tech21 Boost R.V.B.. It's pretty awesome. Very warm and very open. The demo files on their website don't even come close to doing it justice. I just wrote a review for it that will be...

SERIOUSLY!!!! With that polyphony thing sitting there in the OS it's SCREAMING for it. Stack 2 or three rack unit up... BAM! I'd be even more happy with a straight up voice expander though.
