Re: Considering a Blofeld Desktop

well the command stations have more than just an "audition button", lol... though that being said the E-mu single rack space versions such as the XL-1 do have an audition button as well, quite nifty for playing certain sounds or triggering arpeggio patches without a controller.

Re: Considering a Blofeld Desktop

I can see the appeal of the trigger button, the two times I owned a DSI Evolver that's exclusively how I used it, made for a quite convenient and compact live set up. Dan, you mentioned the Korg Radias earlier, if being able to trigger sounds, sequences, etc and tweak in real time from the module it...

Re: Experiences with PAIA 9700s modular systems?

I had a 9700 system about a dozen years ago, ordered each module one at a time as I could afford them and they came as kits, had to solder everything to the board myself. don't remember if they offered pre-assembled modules. a quick look at the 9700S page on their site doesn't seem to indicate they ...

Re: shipping to US only, why?

I can understand the hesitancy to ship almost anything internationally these days, although I've been doing it for years without major incident. the only times I had issues were shipping a Boss RE-20 Space Echo pedal to Sweden a few years ago. buyer never received notification that the package was a...

I just received a response from Nova Musik concerning their pre-orders and apparently they are not receiving theirs until the end of the month. :-/

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth

I don't really care. Now we have a date, and I can stop looking every single day until that date is met. It's not really a big deal to me. I don't go into full ragemode if a computer game is delayed a couple months either. Just means I will get it later, but I will still get it. yeah, I feel the sa...

Re: Decimation - Doepfer A189, Malgorithm, or Geiger Counter...?

well, honestly I'm not into the pure decimator/bit reduction sounds, but they can sound pretty good when used with other effects. I particularly like running a guitar into a fuzz and then into the Geiger Counter.

probably dependent upon overall sales volume, when it's down to a certain level they kick in the cashback incentive.

Re: Synth sellers will soon need to drop their prices.

I just had an ebay seller trying to hit me up for shipping insurance on an effects pedal after I'd already paid for it. also there was no mention of insurance in the listing or as an option when making payment. I have this sinking feeling I'm gonna get screwed on this deal.

Re: Pedal Heads? Troniks Chondritic Sound Forum

I'm registered on the troniks boards, will sometimes chime in on the gear forum when I have some useful advice. I'm still into the whole noise thing after about 15 years, but I do agree that alot of it shows little to no consideration for dynamics or composition and really all starts to sound the sa...

Re: Decimation - Doepfer A189, Malgorithm, or Geiger Counter...?

I've had the Frostwave and agree with the "one trick pony" assessment. I have owned an Alesis Bitrman for a few years and find it quite useful, especially in the FM/Ring Mod/Freq Shift modes... and just snagged a WMD Geiger Counter, which I should be delivered in the next couple of days.

Re: Analog filter for TX81z

I'd definitely go for the Warp9 for that price, you will either find it works fine for what you want or might be able to unload it again for a small profit as Bigbag mention. right now I have a Sherman Filterbank II, Akai MFC 42 and the Terratec version of the Warp9, and I've really had more of a pr...

Re: favorite reverb?

I was going to comment on that... I haven't used it in a couple of weeks, but I know on certain settings, such as plate and hall, it will only give you a mix of the unaffected and reverberated sound, which is a disappointment.
