It was the Nord Lead 1 for me. I miss the immediacy of the bastard, but I've learned far more in 4 months with the Micro Modular, than 3 years with the Lead 1.

Out of what I own/have owned, the microKORG and Novation SL Compact have c**p build quality. My SL37 and the Nords were/are built like tanks.

I think the key to using the G2 or any NM is to exercise "restraint of potential"when patching and gradually move your way through its endless possibilities. Amen to that. I just love how I'll sit down to build a simple 2 osc bassline and then two hours later I end up with a screen full of modules ...

Do you need the cash for something else? If so, then the Lead is so readily available...it's no big deal to get another in the future. It's just a synth, not a family heirloom. Well, I could always use the cash and I know this synth is easy to find, I was mostly just curious if keyboardless synth p...

Nord Lead 1 version question.

If a nord rack boots up with a version number (say 1.6 for example) and the number is followed by a "rA," what does "rA" mean? I know that "E" means it's expanded in the kb version and I can't find any info on the "rA."

Thanks.

I'll bet its the same 'voice' that is going to go into the Boom Chica, without Roger Linns beat box side...

I'd also like to propose the name 'Boom Chica'.
