+1 for the QS
It's certainly programmable, and you can burn your own samples to pcmcia flash if you like. Great sounding board.

Do you have the latest ROM in the rm1x? If not, it's probably freaking cubase out with leaky MIDI. Turning it off in the setup doesn't do anything. I believe the way around the bug was to set the voice on the rm1x to anything but a phrase voice. Setting the channels to only input MIDI and not to the...

It's mostly a problem with windows zeroconf and some cards. If you have a glitch sound or regular interruptions in the audio, shut off the zeroconf service. I don't bother shutting off wireless.

I use epsdisk, you can't write to disks in WinNT, but you can read. I keep an old laptop around for writing.

I'll second wusikstation, however, there's quite a bit of drama going down as the author has decided to make it a subscription software-as-a-service thing. This was only recently announced, so we'll see how it plays out. If it ends in tears, definitely check out one of the companies that have produc...

MM6 I wouldn't suggest the MMs unless you're a regular (not synthnerd) gigging keyboardist or something. The lack of sampling and expansion is rough, you can find used motifs for less, sometimes much less. Ever try and edit sounds on a workstation? Its not fun. I actually think the motifs are one o...

Is it actually shocks or does your skin feel like it's vibrating when you run your fingers over it? Assuming your house is wired correctly (big assumption, some places) it might just be a polarization problem. Look for gear that doesn't have polarized plugs (one blade larger than the other) and flip...

The keyboard is split in to two zones in the middle, there's a ribbon cable connecting the two that always fails. Sometimes you can reseat it but it's usually broken internally from age/abuse. Any good tech can solder jumpers across the space easily but it's a pain in the a*s to get to it. Then ther...

They don't, and the MV4 that I've played with didn't do anything for me. They're programmable though, the II isn't.

I'm looking for the reverb that will make the audio signal sound like your literally floating on air in the clouds...if you know what I mean? Find an old midiverb II, bloom preset. The wedge was meant to be a inexpensive buss reverb, it's probably not the best choice. I'm not familar with the lex. ...

It looks to be hot s**t, extremely portable. However, it's unexpandable and at the price they've been saying, it better sound f**k amazing.

If it comes with the 4x+scsi expander, has the keyboard fix and/or a bunch of disks(commercial! not home-made) it's still on the edge of too much, imo.
God help me, I love the EPSes but the original is a bear if it's unupgraded/unfixed.

You're probably going to end up needing something like Translator to get into something friendly for the 5000.

I suppose you could mount them in daemontools and use some akai ripping tool to get the information off but I imagine that'll be quite a chore. If dtools will even mount them up.

It's amazing how cheap the TX802 can be gotten, it's powerful, sounds great and has individual outs. It's the rack version of the 7ii with a few more features.
If you want unweildy, but raw, power- there's always the TX816. :P
