BECAUSE STEREO SOUNDS BETTER. Different not better. A lot of older stereo recordings are "simple" stereo, with stuff very near or (some Doors stuff) completely hard panned to either side, even vocals. If you've got a room and sit back, it sounds great, on headphones, not so much. There are some gre...

I track almost everything in mono. Unless the source, in stereo, offers something that I can't get elsewhere, I like it in mono. It makes mixdown a little easier. Probably the only thing I record in stereo is my TX416... and that's pretty much for my own personal amusement. Like patches in each modu...

I've used as large as a 10meg card, I believe that 48megs is the limit.

asr-x pro nets you twice the max RAM capacity, a better (and stock) SCSI interface and synthesis capabilities. Sequencer is still meh, pads still like to break. I love you Ensoniq, I just wish your QA was better over the years <3 I'm not sure that I would buy another, but they seem to be going for b...

Wusikstation is good for soft "rom"pler action, I'd second the suggestion of the korg legacy digital collection.

Mine is a word of pain and hurt. All the buttons are s**t, the pads have died over and over again. I basically just use it as an expander for my EPS. It sounds good but...

MPC500 pushing an EPS16+ rack?
That way you'd get a fun battery powered sampling sequencer and one of the best sampler/synths ever(imo). The combo would be cheaper than a 3k, too :3

I would wholeheartedly suggest a new card but you could always use the kX drivers in the meantime. I think I was getting around 10ms latency with my old audigy.

MIDI's easy enough, you just have sync running out from your master computer and use external sync on the slave.
There are some midi over ethernet softs around but I've never played with them, I can't imagine wrapping a sync signal in more layers is good for it, but *shrug*

Cheaps Wusikstation~

I saw this on KVR and figured I'd pass it along. Wusikstation is having a groupbuy package that includes ws3 and some sample collections with more stuff added the more people get on. I'm not connected with them at all, just think it might be a good deal for a great product. Support small developers!...

What exactly is the error? The generic thing to try first is repair permissions, boot from the OS disc, go into disk utility and hit repair permissions. If that doesn't fix it and you just want to be able to use your machine in os9, boot from the OS disc, go into the startup disk panel, choose OS9 a...

for warmth, fuzz or noise?

I like the tube screamer TS9DX on most things, even at low settings it adds a little gritty sparkle.
