I hate to sound like a douche but if you paid hundreds of pounds for a B&W, no matter how souped up, that might be why he isn't returning your calls. They're not worth that much unless filled with TDM cards, maybe.

Are you sure it's DVI? ADC looks similar. Cheap cards to look for for that machine are the Radeon 7ks. Like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-ATI-Radeon-7000-64MB-AGP-Graphics-Card-Mac-G4_W0QQitemZ350019868185QQihZ022QQcategoryZ80034QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem It has both RGB and DVI. Almost...

There's an EPS rhodes sampleset that I loved (roadskeys?), it was especially great with a little bit of dx epiano behind it. Almost every rompler built has some approximation of rhodes though. I think the cheapest one that's passable is probably the alesis s4.

that heat sink is a b***h. Ultimate truth. You also want to make sure that the keyboard fault has already been repaired OR it is blessed by some ancient god, because if it's not, you're going to have, at least, calibration issues. Not to disuede anyone, they're minor niggles that scar an otherwise ...

Think of the EPS as an older, poor man's K2000. It's really built to be a synth-ing sampler, not a phraseloop beast like the boss/roland boxes.

I used to play a yamaha. My regular rig was an alesis s4 and tx802, the tx was more expressive but sounded more grossly synth-y. Either are very cheap. Patchman music sells patch sets for many synths that are geared to wind players, I used his for my S4. If I got bit by the windsynth bug again, I'd ...

8 part multi-timbral, 8+2 output, more algorithms/cleaner outs(vs dx7), performances (dx7ii doesn't do this sans E!, iirc), microtonal scales
I use mine more than I use my soft FM synth. The interface isn't bad once you get used to it :P

I really miss my 8p. Soundtrack has got to be one of my favourite presets on any synth, even now.

NI Kore is the only total solution for this at the moment, afact. WilliamK, the author of wusikstation, is working on a similar soft that's going to be much cheaper. I haven't played with either though.
