Have a look here at the DMX Krew studio:

There are really good sound examples of all his synths, i'm sure you'll find what you need amongst them.

Perhaps a Boss SP-202 would be a good choice? You can re-assign loop points, reverse the sample and fiddle with delay/pitch/timestretch/ring mod, all while it plays. Plus it's small, battery powered, and cheap. I've never used an SU700, but have heard good things. I'm not sure how real-time they are...

My ESQ had a dead battery in it for almost a whole year without any leakage. I'd suspect it was dead even long before i bought it, so, you shouldn't be too worried if it's only just started giving that message on start-up. Get it changed anyway, it's a pain not being able to save sequences and patch...

The Six Trak's functions are so confusing. Thought i'd broken mine, but all i'd done was select the local off (keyboard off) function by accident. You really need the list of button combinations to be able to get everything out of it. Even the manual isn't that clear about most of them. I love my Si...

I had an sp 202, but sold it, because in the end the thing that annoyed me the most about it was that there was no way to alter the volume of individual samples. Other than that, i really quite liked it. Very light, and a felt nice. The pads on it feel much nicer than sp 303, which i also used to ha...

Get both. They sound the same, except, each one has a few features which make it worth having over the other. 202 has lfo delay which is really neat. 101 has noise and more lfo shapes. 202 has a useful and really quite simple 2 channel sequencer. 101 has a nice arpeggiator. It really depends on whic...

Replacing Akai S1100 Disk Drive With S20 One?
Hi, I've got an S1100 with a crapped out disk drive, and i just realised, rather than source an expensive one from some kind of Akai dealer, maybe i could just replace it with the one in my S20.
Does anyone know if this would work? Would it just be a case of matching the jumpers?

I disagree, i think the real acid sound comes from the phrasing of a pattern. The 303 puts a weird feel onto the sequence, what with all the sliding and accenting and so forth, the sound is second. Of course it's important to have that squealing filter, but why most clones fail is that they omit the...
