I thought they mainly used a Korg MS20.
Goodness knows what was used in Conny's studio. He had a massive variety of synthesizers and effects.

Kulten, if you put the right sounds into it, you can make acid-ish stuff. It slides automatically, and that filter is quite harsh, so it works well. Otherwise i use it to process other sounds. Which works well too. My friend has my syb3 currently, so i can't post any examples or give a more detailed...

My acid gang: MC202, SH101, ESQ1, TR707, TR606, RZ1, Boss SYB3. MMT8 sequencer. I had an ER1 but sold it, it were rubbish. A bit fake sounding, though quite fun to use. I never got a really decent kick drum out of it. And the snares were very poor. Maybe try a Boss Dr550 or something along them lines?

I've been wondering the same thing for years. So far i'm guessing that it was mostly the kind of stuff avalable in the early eighties, such as Prophet 5, Oberheim OBXa and DMX, Roland Jupiter, TB-303, SH-101, TR-808 etc. As for effects, that's what makes most of the best tunes. I'd love to know what...

Well, if it weren't for Afrika Bambaataa, i doubt Planet Rock would ever have been made, as it was he that decided to use sections of a few Kraftwerk records looped so that Soulsonic Force could rap on top of them, and rather than just sample it, he got Arthur Baker and John Robie to remake it. Thus...

What's This That Afrika Bambaataa is Playing?

What is that little Roland thing? A sequencer perhaps?
Photo is from the Planet Rock era, early 1980's.

SCI Six Trak Erratic Behaviour
Hi, I've got this Six Trak and I'm having this problem with the tuning/pitch. The tuning is constantly jumping all over the place, i've confirmed this by doing the tune test as described in the Service Manual, and it's impossible to get a reading, as the values are never still. What the h**l is happ...
