It sounds like a trumpet with the attack smoothed out and some distortion to me.

I think this is actually really cool. it's almost $1000 cheaper than the regular Voyager. I might be selling my truck this spring to get something more fuel effeicent, I'm not sure if I should pay off bills with any money I may have left or get this. It'll be perfect for my ribbon controller I've al...

I think the Yamaha YC series are the best sounding organs of all time, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. No you're not. Although I didn't have the YC series I had it's much bigger brother in the home organ version. It had a really thick tone to it...perhaps the antithesis to the Hammond tonewheel....

Tempting, but how do those flourescent displays hold up? Much better than an LCD screen. VFD's pretty much last forever, And if I'm thinking correctly you could just replace it with a standard proper sized LCD or PLED screen. This synth seems to combine the best aspects of my JX-3P and my DX21. i s...

I use the Standtastic stands. They're portable and have a bunch of stuff you can add on. Need another tier? Pow! an extra $30 and you've got one. Plus they're mostly made out of standard uni-strut so you can make your own accessories if you want. http://img3.musiciansfriend.com/dbase/pics/products/8...

Why can't they have NAMM in Vega? They've got CES in Vegas. Think about it one right after the other. Imagine how many more people would show up. I say we move NAMM to Vegas.

ESQ-1 CV scaling?

Well I've had my "new" ESQ-1 for over a year now. I had one before that died, so Maschinegeist gave me credit for my dead ESQ-1 to a working ESQ-1. Between the time of my old one dying and getting the new one I had kind of forgot what it sounded like. When I got it I was terribly dissapointed at how...

Not latley. They've been going for about $50 more than JX-8Ps on eBay recently.

1200 Euros for a JX-8P? Maybe in 1985. The usual going price for them in The US is between $200 and $300. The JX-10 goes for slightly more. I would never pay 1200 euros for one though.
