When approaching both the 30th anniversary of the beloved Minimoog...

The MiniMoog was produced in 1970 which would date this article to 2000 or 1999, which would make sense when they call it the new Synth 2000.

I've got one and use it for SysEx control of my JX-8P as well as using CC#'s for softsynths and the like. Connecting USB is no problem. The Java software that came with it to edit templates is a little buggy and I've never been able to get it to work...though I've heard work is being done on an open...

No analog oscillator ever came with a softsync input. Only hardsync. The oscillators on the Serge Modular do softsync only . (Hardsync-type sounds must be achieved via Wave Multipliers or DSG syncing.) The JX-8P has both soft and hard syncing...I'm not exactly sure how Roland did it but it's still ...

For Ambient? You can get some smooth sounds out of it, but it's just too easy (and fun) to get harsh sounds from it. In my opinion the Poly 800 is smoother than the ESQ-1.

I would suggest an early to mid 90's digital synth like the Yamaha TG-77.

"I dont want a 12+ bit sampler, I want an 8-bit sampler for that early 80s sound" Correct me if im wrong but dont all higher bit samplers have the ability to lower the bit rate for storage reasons, and if its about the analog filters in some early samplers like the emulator II. why not just run you...

I meant did you restart it? Sometimes you have to restart your computer after you install new drivers so the 'driver man can do his business.

"X-MAS BONUS 1 !!! We have discovered a limited amount of units that were hidden in the darkest corners of Santa's workshop! Order now because they will soon be gone!" This is the business practice that makes Elektron a little unsettling to me. They did this with the SID Station 100 at a time. They...

FANTASTIC sound. especially the lead. instant Chris Franke i.e. Tangerine Dream from mid70s. there just nothing else out there that sounds like this, none of the modern modular manufacturers, as good in their own right, evem ones going for the moog vibe, cannot pin down this elusive character. damn...

I've seen your racked minimoog. Have you actually used it to play live with? I don't really see how you could play solos with a pitch ribbon unless it is segmented into notes like the Haken Continuum? Not necessary, I guess it depends on how you play. I guess the ribbon controller can be played kin...

I want that keyboard stand in the second video.

When I think of the five years I lived in the 80's this is what I think. Playing Nintendo and drinking Crystal Pepsi.
