After searching for months for a 1U rack mixer I finally found the Roland M-120. I was leaning towards the Behringer RX1602 before I found out about the M-120. The M-120 won because the Behringer is actually 8 channels of stereo. Meaning if you're not using stereo equipment you've only got 8 inputs....

Yes. If you can't double click you should stick to PC, or typewriter. :P
I thought that was the whole selling point of Macs?

Of course, there's no reason why Hohner has to be the company to revive the Clavinet. There's no reason why a boutique company couldn't license the design and bring something to market. It wouldn't be cheap -- no economy of scale -- but a small boutique operation would be better suited to serving t...

You can hook the audio out from your computer to an amp. Which is exactly what your computer speakers/headphones are.

EDIT: I can't believe I just wasted post #666 on this.

I'll post here what I replied to your PM for the benefit of future Poly 800 owners. I'm guessing the reason your Poly 800 has screwed up patches is either because the batteries died or there are no batteries in it. The Poly 800 only keeps it's memory as long as there are batteries in it. When your p...

He was joking about buying a Moog modualr. Even if you could afford one you would still have to go through the impossible task of finding one.

[ Sure, you don't want to use it for piano simulations, but it does have its winning points. The JX-10's Piano's are considered by many the best analog piano sounds out there. Roland's rack mount analog piano module is based off the piano presets of the JX-10. The JX-8P may not have the snappiest e...

Actually it responds to controllers 1 and 4 which can be mapped to any of the modulation destinations in the machine, you can also globally assign one external CC (Ensoniq calls it XCTRL) which can be mapped to any destination. Controllers 7 and 10 are supported for volume and pan and 65 for sustai...

Regulated CC messages didn't start showing up as a standard until the mid 90's. Meaning you couldn't change parameters with just a bunch of CC#'s, e.g one CC for the filter, another for the resonance and so on.

I just took a look and my suspicions were correct this is the work of the Korg-PolyEx Yahoo group . Korg has nothing to do with this...other than making the synth 20 years ago. They are reverse engineering the Poly 800's firmware and adding extra memory to give it enhanced features. The Poly-800 isn...

Sounds good! But like I stated in Johnny Lenin's other thread, this will not work on the Poly 800 because it doesn't allow real-time control via SysEx. Check the specs of your synth to find out if it you can change parameters in real time via SysEx, or CC#'s, or NRPN's. To make it easier here's some...

If it's knobs you want you can't go wrong with a Behringer BCR2000 MIDI knob-box which will play nicely with everything you've got. It sends out SysEx for the JX-8P which makes the PG-800 unnescessary. will that thing do anything for a poly 800? Unfortunatly not. The Poly 800 doesn't allow realtime...
