It's a poor build quality, I can't stand scratchy sliders so unless it's well serviced it would be a pain to play and the duophonic keyboard drives me and a lot of people nuts. I find it raw sounding in a bad way sometimes... an arp-2600 is just more pleasing to the ears and the odyssey just is too ...
"going for" and "actually selling for" are two different things. Most minis on ebay over 3k are barely selling unless they are real nice cosmetically or a super early serial number. If you look through completed listings there isn't one single minimoog that has sold for over $3000 in awhile! Then ev...
I would go prophet 600 with some nice analog effects. but in my experience there is no perfect analog poly synth out there! each one is unique but I don't like most polys because the oscillators never sound as fat as they do on monosynths for the most part and a lot of ploys just sound weak and a bi...
sounds like you have the knob in the upper right of the synth above the master volume turned on, it should be set to zero all the way left. if it's on at all then you are opening/turning on the vca just like on many synths you can drone or open the vca. I think that knob is called initial gain when ...
that is weird you mean the vcf input on the sh1000 isn't sending proper cv gate? I mean maybe you should try hooking up an iphone to it and typing the words cv gate... that should work...   Honestly I would bet you're just not setting this up right. Hope you get her working though......
the only thing I haven't been able to figure out is how to slave the lfo to a clock, I'm not sure if I've been sending in the right pulse signal but it seems weird that there are two speeds for the lfo and if you're sending in pulses it changes but you can still speed up the lfo with one of the cont...
first the cs-40m doesn't use standard cv/gate I believe it's trig so you can forget that test, second you have to have the oscillator's keyboard cv slider turned all the way up on all three oscs. if you have them centered at zero you'll get nothing, third if you have them turned down all the way the...
Haha I bought one m5 a couple years ago with a dislodged rubber foot, then I recently dislodged one on my m5n! ahhhhhh Ken really should have made this thing half the size and with 1/8th inch cables... then they would be twice as desirable. by the way the m5 is more raw sounding he changed the signa...
the m5 is a total monster for sure, but you're not going to find any new semi modular that sounds that good or vintage. there is no "new" arp 2600, minimoog or SEM even if you ask me ;) there will never be new stuff that sounds the same. Joey the macbeth modules don't offer nearly what the m5n has.....
I've owned two m5s and am about to sell my m5n so someone. They are IMO the best semi modular on the planet and one of the best basic analog synths ever made and the layout is much more user friendly than a pure modular synth. I'm only selling because I need teh monies the m5n has snappier envelopes...
It's extremely frustrating that moog doesn't make this phatty polychaining a reality, these shouldn't even mention it if they aren't going to make it work.
