Re: The New Tom Oberheim SEM Thread

whoah there :? the self oscillation on the one I had was similar. It only slightly self oscillated to begin with, and only from 10 or 11 oclock to 5 oclock.... so no deep sub bass ms-20 style self oscillation. What are you expecting it's a buzzy 12db filter and it still sounds great just love it for...

sh5 is way better and more expensive too... weakest link is that the envs aren't snappy

Re: SP-505/sp-404sx timestretch live performance???

I don't think the Microsampler will do it any better than the SP-404SX. The only real options you have are Live or a V-Synth. Or you could just timestretch stuff in Live and load the pre-stretched samples into any sampler ready to go. are you sure? I can't find any user reviews about the time stret...

Re: SP-505/sp-404sx timestretch live performance???

thanks yeah sounds like the sp series won't work for this. i'm reading that the korg microsampler can timestretch and sync/slave to an external midi clock so maybe that is the next best bet. Octatrack is a pretty damn expensive sampler and I honestly just need to be able to play back loops and don't...

SP-505/sp-404sx timestretch live performance???

So I'm working on putting together a live set, I want to have loops that can be time streched and slaved to my tr-909. I'm waiting for the octatrack to come out, the thing is I don't need all those features I just want to be able to play loops that time stretch and slave to something and with maybe ...

Re: Modern Jupiter 8

$8000 is NOT the going rate, it's just what a couple of greedy assholes are trying to get for theirs. THEY WILL NOT SELL FOR 8K! hfinn is selling his for 6k... I think that is still steep. That synth isn't nowhere near worth 5k even in my eyes. I would rather buy a lot of things with that much money...

Re: Smell coming from synth

man I"m trying to clean cat pee smell out of my friend's house that was destroyed by renters with 10 cats, I wouldn't worry too much. if you smelled the cat pee or the toxic chlorine gas created when mixing bleach with cat pee (ammonia) you wouldn't be too worried and besides getting good and high o...

Re: Don't sell your f**k gear!

Come on people all this gear is easily replaceable...

I'll sell anything and buy it again later if I miss it, with the internets these days it's really easy to find almost anything.

Re: Connect Roland System 100 model 101 to ARP Little Brothe

the oscillator is really really raw and fat on the 101, for me the biggest downside is that the env is slow and can't really do punchy percussion stuff like other synths. Honestly you might consider picking up a cheaper pro one, I remember when I sold my 101 and got a pro one and felt it was a bette...

Re: Connect Roland System 100 model 101 to ARP Little Brothe

it should work, I'm not positive if the lfo modulation will work though it's been awhile maybe you would need to patch the lfo out to the arp? I used to use a roland system 101 with the moogerfooger ring mod and it was awesome!!!! I love the system 101 man if you can get one you're stoked, and i do ...

Re: Adding a keyboard to an analog module (Synare PS-1)

I seem to remember discussing this with a friend who said it's not possible to get the synare to track pitch without adding some whole circuit or something. It was never made to be used with cv/gate and I think it's not really possible. I could be wrong though.

Are there any modern keyboard samplers that are good?

I'm wanting to get a keyboard sampler that at least has the capabilities of a vintage akai sampler but in keyboard form. It doesn't seem like there are any new ones out there that are only samplers, the workstations seem to be less geared towards just sampling. the akai microsampler doesn't have pro...
