I'm not sure who plays with George these days, but Bernie used all of the above gear and more on their classic 70's albums and tours.

Obviously Oberheim. At least as far as Prince related funk was concerned. The Minimoog, Rhodes, Clavinet, Prophet 5,Yamaha CS-80, Arp Odyssey and Arp string ensemble had their place. Of course you can cover all those basic sounds pretty nicely with something like the Yamaha Motif. Unless you're addi...

I love both. The Obxa has been out of order for awhile, so lately the Jupiter is my favorite vintage analog. I'm sure after I get the Ob fixed, it'll get favor!

I've used my Oberheim DX to trigger the arpeggiator of my Jupiter 8 with interesting results. I haven't run it through my Minimoog, P5 or A6 yet. Tonight sounds like a good one for experimenting. I recently picked up a Boss Ph3 Phaser pedal that's knocks my socks off. It's got 12 different stages, r...

The P'08 and the Mini compliment each other very nicely. I get a groove going on the Oasys, loop it, then move over to the P'08/Mini stack for pads and lead synth... Yeah That's what I like to do with my set up. The Motif or Miko is where I start and then let the analogs take things somewhere else....

Thanks Guys for the comments - both positive and negative! I'm really learning you can't please everybody. A lot of folks over on KSS really hate these demos...especially the third one with the filter FM. I just didn't want to cover the same ground that Ski and Stefan Trippler did. My Evolver demos...

I purchased my mini from Adam Holzman. He played Davis' band in the mid to late 80's. He said it was used in some rehearsals and shows, but doesn't recall if Miles ever played it. His current band Brave New World rocks and and they're very funky.

I know they used the OB-Xa for their 1984 album. I still say they used the OB-X as stated before by others. Then they used the OB-Xa on tour and in the videos... Ducks for cover.... i agree. at least for Jump. the source of confusion was the video and concert footage with XA, so everyone asumed its...
