W3rd! I was excited when I discovered this thread and heard some of the demos. It's kind of a drag when people start knocking a piece of gear that's not even on the market yet, because it's not what they wanted. Please save yer gripes for a thread after you've demoed this synth yerself

New Jupiter 8 owner

I've acquired this amazing machine since this forum was last up. It sounds so rich. My A6 can sound similar, but doesn't have the tone. The JP8's got this magical vibe. It sounds like there's built in effects, but there aren't any. I suppose what I love the most is the immediacy of the interface. Ve...

:D Glad VSE forums are back up and running. There's so much knowledge here. Like Joni said,"you don't know what got till it's gone"! Many thanks to all who make it possible for us to be here.

I must be the luckiest guy on here. My girl love all of my gear. In fact she encourages me to buy cool vintage synths ! I just purchased a Jupiter 8 and received my first, this is your last synth for the year from her. I think it's fair considering what I already have :D

I own it and love it ! I use it on the Open Labs Miko, so it's fun to use the ribbon via its touchscreen.

Yet once you DO get them, you just want even more fat synths. It's a neverending spiral of money. yeah no kidding! I have a Jupiter 8 on the way. It was @ $2500.00, with some paint rubbed of in the mod section. I think I can live with that. The last two Jp8's I tried to win in an auction, went for ...

I use the YAMAHA MOTIF ES to sample and slice things all the time. It's great because you can add effects, loop and create instruments. It can do some pretty cool stuff. Definitely no comparison to something the Akai MPC which is a dedicated sampler, but it works for me.

thanks Bitexion,
guess I found out the hard way. I went to the forum and saw several similar complaints about it. Oh well I guess it'e small price to pay for those sounds. I wonder if I can save the disk image to my machine and do away with loading the cd-rom?

I just got Cs-80v and installed the 1.6 update. I love the sounds and how fun it is to play standalone. When I try and use it in Cubase 4 it prompts me for the cd-rom. When I put it in it loads up just fine. I really don't want to have to pop in the cd-rom everytime I wanna use it in Cubase 4. Has a...

I once had the opportunity to noodle around on a real CS-80 and it was too cool. I'd love to own one, but I to would be happy use the Arturia CS-80V on my Open Labs Miko
