Re: Poll: your musical influence for interest in synthesizers

i don't know how to answer this as industrial is what got me into synths, but i think it belongs in the dance category. most industrial / ebm (in the last 20 years not counting throbbing gristle type stuff) follows similar formats to techno, just with vocals and a proper song structure. That's why ...

Re: Do your synth desires ever get the better of you?

i tend to buy pieces slowly...then sell a few at a time to buy something higher end with the money. then build up more stuff over time, combine and sell for something better. the quailty and price goes up every time.

Re: Poll: your musical influence for interest in synthesizers

also i think the demographic of this forum will skew the results. i think most people here are more into non dance related synth music. i also thing its an older crowd than the overall synth crowd. put this poll up on an access virus form for example the the poll would be even more skewed the other ...

Re: Custom synth painting north america?

i'm thinking i might paint it and find a way to scan the face so i can accurately redesign the overlay....i'm just wondering, is there a way to get a decal printed where only your text / lines are stickers? like they do on window and car decals where it prints on a backer strip that is pulled away, ...

Re: What Synth have you gigged the most?

Virus C...I always take it live.

I've also used the jP-8000 quite a bit, and the v-synth a few times but it's way too bulky.

i like the virus because when playing out of town it's easy to take on the plane in a backpack and the promoter can provide a controller.

Re: Custom synth painting north america?

Could be a fun DIY project :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTkLghcB0R4 Win no? i've thought about trying it myself but am too intimidated...i would be willing to try on something smaller, that is easy to scan for redesign and easy to print an overlay for, but i wouldn't know how to go about doing...

I'd like to get my jp-8000 painted up black, but dont know a place that could re-silkscreen the text. I was trying to think where i could go that isn't a custom synth place...

Re: Modular Synth Terminology

Eurorack is a format. There are 3 major formats for modulars in production right now. there are several manufacturers producing modules for each format. Any module of a certain format meets certain specifications like size. So you would pic a format and get a case by one of the companies that makes ...

Re: What synth (s) you own but haven't played for over 1 year

since getting my xtk about a year ago i have noodled with it several times but have yet to use it in a recording. i can never seem to get what i want out of it and i don't find its interface inviting. I dunno, maybe it doesn't get used because i got my blofeld a few weeks after and use it all the ti...

Re: Waldorf Blofeld - I'm Lovin' It!!

I am also in blofeld bliss! it is great.

I find that it is the easiest of all my hardware to create fresh patches on, even though it only has a few knobs, because the menues are so well laid out and visual.

this thing is great at modular type evolving effects.

+1 on the arpeggiator!
