Re: Roland V-SYNTH vs Korg MS2000
That's a GREAT price on the V-Synth ... And it's a MUCH better board in just about every way than MS2K (which I had for less than a year and traded for something else ... ) The only thing I'll say about MS2K is that is has more dedicated knobs for editing traditional VA parameters than V-Synth, whi...

Re: Roland V-SYNTH vs Korg MS2000
v-synth for 550? wtf? buy it, buy it now!thinkingbeat wrote:If you were starting out, and had the option to buy one (and only) of these synths, which would you choose?
V-SYNTH $550
MS2000 $500
And why?
there is no comparison. these two synths arn't even in the same league as far as im concerned.

Re: omnisphere-soft synth of the gods?
not that i know of...besides a demo wouldn't do it justice considering its strongest point is it's massive sample library.killanator wrote:is there a demo i can get for it? i would like to try it!
im currently working on a track composed entirely with omnisphere, well except drums and it's turning out fantastic.

Re: omnisphere-soft synth of the gods?
i just installed it and have spent about an hour with it. it is AMAZING, exactly what i hoped it would be. i do a lot of film work and this will pretty much cover %90 of the sounds i will need for that. the psychoacoustics stuff is incredible, not all very musical (some is) but incredible in depth a...

Re: Vox in industrial music
once again, your voice shouldnt sound THAT far off from the finished sound even in a dry signal. work on the tone of your voice so you can get to a point where effects add to it but dont totally change it. and when using the chorus, don't be shy, this is one case where you can adjust the setting pre...

Re: Vox in industrial music
Oh and another thing red since you know about playing live. I plan on playing my Korg R3 live in an industrial/synth metal band along with a bass guitarist, an electric guitarist, and a drummer. What else do I need in the way of getting my sound right like mixers/pedals/accessories. I will be stand...

Re: Vox in industrial music
Bullshit. I can scream/growl like any metal band out there and what I hear coming from them is not that. edit: What I am hearing from them is more like TALKING into a mic mixed with RADIO STATIC. ok.....but i've played with most of those guys and know thier set ups. trust me there is no vocoder inv...

Re: Vox in industrial music
I messed around for so long with the vocoder feature in FL Studio 8 trying to get the right sound out of it. What I am looking for is how to get my voice to sound the same as the guy from bands such as Suicide Commando, Tactical Sekt, Virtual Embrace, etc... It seemed no matter what sound patch I p...

Re: The morality of sampling movie SFX
i used to sample sound fx from movies like it was going out of style. my first album had tons of sampled drones and soundscapes. i'm not doing it much anymore but thats mostly due to a lack of time to sit through dvds and capture audio. i really see nothing wrong with it as long as you end up doing ...

yea another vco is my plan for next module, just not sure what yet.
REwire wrote:You should order a second VCO as soon as possible. The AFG has many outputs but you have nothing to do FM or detuning with. The A-147 is also too slow to get up to audio rates to do FM. Good choices so far!

Re: the thereminator
also it is actually quite easy to pick up...i can't play any musical instruments very well but i was able to somewhat decently play twinkle twinkle little star on it after about 2 hours use, not too bad. this is my thinking... when i do the 'route the pitch to the mod wheel' trick on a synth to emu...

Re: I ordered my modular!
What synths did you use on the Book of the Dead track? love it btw! I'm interested in what kind of sounds you coax out of your modular. Something scary and strange from the Cake Builder :occasion6: that track is a few years old now so hard to remember. honestly most was reaktor synths specifically ...

Re: I ordered my modular!
=D> That system will keep you busy for quite some time. Don't forget to use your other synths every once in a while :D haha, yea, aint that the truth. i think for the most part my other synths will make up the majority of my recorded tracks. i think, at first at least, the modular will be more for ...
