Re: Blofeld vs XT?
i own both and personally much prefer the blofeld. i find it is a lot more felxible, has better filters, a fantastic arpegiator and an over all thicker and more dynamic sound. the blofeld can produce some incredibly strong sub bass as well as complex thick soundscapes. personally i would go with the...

Reel to Reel tape recording as an effect
I've always recorded everything directly into cubase and never took much interest in tape recording until seeing this video: http://vimeo.com/808485?pg=embed&sec=808485 i was really intrigued about what he had to say about about sending tracks out to tape and then back into the daw. This is somethin...

Re: Do you hate when bands...
i didnt read through the whole thread, just your original post. i personally hate it when an electronic act i love adds guitars and live drums during live performances and changes the vibe. I would be much happier hearing pre-recorded backing tracks. If i wanted to hear a guitar i'd listen to bands ...

Re: Advice For A Complete Beginner
B.G., Thanks for taking the time to reply to my questions, it's been very helpful. I bought a Korg R3 yesterday for $325 from a guy who had only had it for a short time so it's practically brand new. Having read many reviews it seemed as if this would be a good entry level synth for someone who has...

Re: Is the Access Virus TI PØLAR a MIDI controller or analogue?
ok...maybe i'm being a little harsh, we all gotta start somewhere. but maybe there should be a section just for newbie questions. so members only have to read the really silly questions if they want to. I don't mind some dumb questions, but ones like this are difficult to even answer because they ar...

Re: Leopard compatibility
Whenever I'm thinking about upgrading my machine I check the manufacturer's websites first to see if they've approved things to work before I pull the trigger. Have you checked out all the websites already? Also you'll get a better idea of individual problems by checking out each company's forum be...

Leopard compatibility
so i took the plunge and just bought myself a pimped out mac pro w/ 30" display for the studio, it should arrive in a few weeks. I'm a little concerned about compatibility though as I went through h**l when i originally went from pc to intel based mac. I've researched as much as i could and it seems...

I once found an SK-1 sitting in the donation bin outside a thrift shop. nothing special, but it was super mint so it made my day. my friend once found a perfectly working Roland HS-60 sitting in an alley behind an old church. the best story i've ever heard though was a friend of mine who was having ...

machinedrum question
just wondering, when racked, how many spaces does the machinedrum take up, including room for cables?
anyone actually rack one of these or do you all just use it tabletop?
