Re: Question about Kenton MIDI to CV
I have an Sh2 and a pro solo mk1, never had problems, really nice interface: it requires some time to calibrate, but once you do that the work is over. I don't know if other interfaces can save settings, but the kenton does. About your last question: when you plug both cv and gate INPUT cables into ...

Re: Calm & melodic track - Distant 7pm
Really nice, not so melodic for my tastes, it's quite minimal, but I like it. Very good sounds too.

Re: Pulse vs. MFB Synth II
I'm not sure what the above poster meant by "musical" basses, but I can assure you the pulse is my goto synth for bass. I will try to explain it: for example my Sh2 does very "musical" basses, they sounds warm, full and round. The Pulse generally has stable and aseptic basses, they can be strong and...

Re: Pulse vs. MFB Synth II
I had a Pulse, my opinion is the same: lots of basses (mainly hard and very low), but I didn't like the other sounds, "sterile" is the right word. It can't produce "musical" basses, as an other analog would, because of its sterility, but they are really good, in a different way. So it is a bass mach...

Re: Create percussions with a noise generators?
I'm creating some new sounds these days. I'm trying to program a kick sounds similar to this one (1:35 for solo): LINK1 I've tried with the sine wave (tried with Sh-2 and supernova), the effect is nice, but not so deep and impulsive. What can I do? I have applied some EQ and compression to my kicks,...

Re: Which Synths are Good For Making Percussion Sounds?
I'm using an Sh-2, as clusterchord said before it's "limited but still very nice".
It can produce kicks, hi hats, snares (quite flat for my tastes), clicks and so on. I've noticed that they have need of a little more depth, expecially kicks. Should I use effects, compression, equalization?

Re: Problems with Novation Supernova OS updating
Problem solved: I have tried again with cubase, setting a lower bpm (60 bpm) and finally it's upgraded.

Problems with Novation Supernova OS updating
Hi, I'm trying to update the Supernova's OS, but I'm having problems. I think I have done it right, but something goes wrong: 1-Download the latest OS (4.1) from this link (PC user): http://www.novationmusic.com/support/downloads?id=14 2-Open cubase LE, import the right midi file. (I also have midiO...

Thank you for the reply. Let's wait for someone who solved the problem, I think it may be a problem with the OS.

Re: Is the Supernova's arpeggiator a step sequencer?
I still can't find a way to insert notes via keyboard. Is there any supernova user who knows the solution?

Re: one line synth reviews
Yamaha DX7IID - Very hard to program but it can sound great and "nostalgic", I loved its pads, bells, brasses and metallic sounds, it goes not so down in basses. Waldorf Pulse - Quite simple to program, despite the lack of controls. A complete synth, great for hard and deep basses, quite sterile on...

Re: Midi/CV interface or CSQ sequencer?
I have set all parameters, the problem is that I don't know if the synth is in tune. Factory settings seems to be good. I have recorded a small mp3, playing the bottom C, the one two octaves above and a C major ascending scale, can you tell me if it is in tune?
