I think that a Roland Workstation will be the better thing for you... i'm happy with my fusion but it sucks as sequencer, i use it only as a synth. The Roland workstations are capable of some really good analoguish sound and some really beautifully digital atmospheres and they have a good sequencer ...

i use only AX-7 as my main controller XD if you made the right split and patches you won't miss the extra keys of a full size keyboard (oh well, if you don't have to play piano parts obviously... but it's not my case) http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/5/2/1040568/DSCN0268.JPG http://www.fileden.com/...

I finally own my perfect 3!!!!

Waldorf Q rack
DSI evolver
Roland VK-8m

(and i control everything with an roland AX-7)

(anyway if i had to live without the ax-7, a Q+ or Q keyboard should be a good choice as controller)

This function is EFFING BRILLIANT! Pure genius... The Access Virus has now surpassed all of my other synths for the tim...

why not starting learning modular synthesis with Karma Fx Synth? It's modular, has a great UI, it's free and it sound really good!

then, when you'll be more expert, you can jump to a more expensive instrument

If the Stromberg's got even -part- of the character of the Q - well, creamy, that's not what I'd call it. I had a Q rack and it was precise and cold; you'd have to do a lot of work to make it "warm". yep the Q is really precise, but it's amazing on digital evolving pads, fat bass (its bass are deep...

If synth manufacturers knew or cared about how much revenue VSE indirectly brings their way, their donations alone would carry this project eternally. Many of my GAS attacks were encouraged by my readings and/or questions on VSE, and 90% of those cravings were alleviated by making a new synth purch...
