My understanding was that Wakeman used SE-1X's for Minimoog stuff. On the Yes at Montreaux JF 2003 DVD during his outstanding 6WH8 "solo" he used his old battered "desert island" MiniMoog pretty extensively--altho in the mix it's way down. He also has a Voyager in the setup but I dont see him playi...

Romplers aren't dead by any means, they have their niche. h**l, I think the Fantom X8 I demoed for 5+ hours the other day (before the salesman 86d me) was one of the finest musical instruments ive ever played. And the Roland RD700SX and (discontinued) GEM Promega 3 are two of the best stage pianos r...

OP U shouldnt have any trouble finding an An1X. Over here good clean used ones run about $300 USD. One of the best soundin digital synths IMO. nice curved Ion too :D nice depreciation free setup there. That's the prob with buying new stuff--it's like buying a car, most of the time, depreciating asse...

I've "evolved" over time into either having full analog or full digital--no more A/D hybrids. sometimes U just have to get things to see if they're a good fit and, if they are not, know when to sell so U dont take a big hit. Plus, GAS-wise, you pure synthesists have it good: imagine also having guit...

One of the strongest and most interesting features of my recently sold Red Square was the S&H circuit--loved to do multiple routings out of that!

Ok, here's the deal... diss all you want. I work on many songs at one time. The MnM lacks in bass...and I love the TB-303 style bass. I'd give up synthesis options for that 303 type sequencer any day. I'm not talking acid either...I'm talking more subdued basses. Since I switch back and forth alot ...

i suggest you not worry about it. you'll buy something and not like it anyways. you got a good thing going, but you are just looking for that elusive piece of gear that doesnt exist. Ssshhh! I like watching JS buy and sell gear. It makes me feel better about my recent gear turnover rate. Yeah, he's...

Yeah one could score a brand new Andromeda for (close) to what Clavia is asking for Wave.

Sweet. Maybe we'll see some serious price reductions in the X series.

Also, I wonder if there's going to be a Fantom-G rack that'll be a little more substantial than the X-R? I tried one of those one time and while the sounds were killer, there was just waaaay to much deep menu diving

State of Current Fantom-X?

did anyone go to, or know anyone else, that attended NAMM 2008? Id heard thru multiple grapevines that the current Roland Fantom X was on its way out, to be replaced by yet another WS (with V-synth capabilities?), but I cannot seem to locate any info that would support this. thanks
