Re: Blofeld CC midi mapped controller for DIY build

If you are good at programming, there is always the midibox platform that can be supported for your DIY build. I always wanted to do a Control Surface for the ESQ series but never had the guts to dive in such a project.

Re: Need advice about Juno 6 repairs

For scratchy pots, Caig Deox-it does a good job. I have to give my juno-106 volume pot a treatment once in a while. For the slider, there might be something stuck in there (tooth pick, guitar pick, ear ring). Maybe the vacuum cleaner can suck it up. As for the button, it will probably need to be rep...

Re: Soulsby Atmegatron

It sounds great. The big turn off is the price of the case in relation to the base PCB. If it would have been an additionnal 40-50 quids I would not have minded, but the price of the case is MORE than the base PCB itself. A MFB type case would have been perfectly acceptable for such a unit. Looks go...

Re: New stuff from Roland!

Hum, I would say that we might be talking about 4 units actually. The VT-3 voice transformer unit that we have already seen. The TR drum machine A TB-303 MC202 type of table top sequenced synth An inexpensive polyphonic synth keyboard to replace the gaia. (The gaia is quite old now). Anybody has a b...

Re: New stuff from Roland!

Given the title of the product, Aira, it could be a pun like : Roland enters into a new era... i.e. the VST era. I think this Aira thing will be a VST product with a controller / dongle. TR-808, TR-909, TR-606, TR-505, TR-707, TB-303, SH-101 and so on....

Kinda of a Rebirth on steroids.

Re: New synth from Nord coming :-P

No, no new synth from clavia nor software controller. The clavia shape and especially the color pattern makes the photoshoped synth recognizable. It is part of the trademark of the company. Just like the Boss Pedal Shape. Most of the people have seem this synth on TV or on Stage. They recognise it. ...

Re: Virus TI such a big deal

The virus sound is based around it's unique filter response and it's now almost unique saturation stage before the filters giving it a special grit. The filter has a wide sweet spot compared to other VA or softsynth. If I am willing to pay 1000$ to get a Virus TI instead of Sylenth1 or Predator soft...

Re: Korg could make some easy money if...

If the nord modular G2 could play samples, it could do all the FM, PM and such you have just mentionned above.

If you can live without the samples, then patch out your own stuff in the G2.

Re: Korg Z1

I had a Z1 once. But what I didn't have was the time to flip through all the menu page to program new sounds.

If Korg would port it to a VST synth format, I would definitively buy it.

Re: Winter Namm 2011

I think one of the product that nobody noticed is the Roland GR-55. If it deliver a thigher midi recognition routine that would bring the unit near defunct Axon products, that would be a considerable + for midi guitarist.

Re: Question For Canucks

You can always do your own brokerage in Canada if you want too. If you live in a major agglomeration, you can refuse your brokerage to be done by UPS or fedex, and do it yourself. It means, taking the papers the shipping company is giving you, go to the Douanes Canada, pay the taxes over there and b...
