Come now, lets not have yet another ROMpler flame-fest... Every true synthesist knows that so-called "ROMplers" (sample based synthesizers) are synthesizers too, in the formost sense of the word. Back on topic... I would repeat the Korg TR rack and the Proteus 2000. I'm pretty sure the Proteus has m...

Have you been to the listening lounge? Lots of people here make cute little songs on only one synth, its a normal part of being a synth-nut..not really anything to draw attention to.

Speaking of which, this belongs in listening lounge.

Could someone tell me why people still sequence with hardware? Is it for a more intuitive feel, or that kind of thing..? Yeah, something like that. I had been using Cubase for a long time for sequencing and it just wasn't much fun. I looked into some hardware sequencers and I bought an Alesis MMT-8...

Bull.

If you have a room, or a corner in your apartment, you have room for monitors. Some companies are even selling "bookshelf" monitors now.

Now CASH..well thats a legetimate complaint...

Just to give you guys looking for affordable reverb an update, I recently got the Lexicon MPX500. Its definitely worth the money (I payed about 300$ for it but I've seen it go as cheap as 150$)! Great reverbs for the price and tons of other effects besides the touted reverbs. Here's a demo of a larg...

Which synth do you use more? Do you really use both equally and need the opinions of baised people to tell you which to keep? Surely there is one you just like better, that you turn to more, that will satisfy your desires more...

PS: I would pay 600$ for the Supersaw alone.

Re: Uniterrupted power supplies...

What voltage should I be looking for here? Any recommendations? You're in the US, 110-120 volts. But, as divineaudio said, it's amperage/wattage ratings you need to be looking at. (watts = volts x amps) Add up the consumption figures of the gear you feel the need to have in the UPS circuit, then go...

Uniterrupted power supplies...

Ok, I'm royally pissed. I was powering up my XV-5080, which has a stupidly long power up process, and my powergrid had a "brownout". All of my patches were lost or scrambled, and I had to do a factory reset. I am now seriously eyeing some UPS systems out there, since my power grid is possibly the sh...

It could be a multitude of things going on here, but my guess is that you are hearing your room. Most smaller rooms have a definite "flutter" and some have noticable long verb if they are big enough. You obviously can't hear this effect when you have headphones on. Actually it is quite the opposite ...

Two spoons, a shitty mic, and a distortion pedal. Seriously. Drums up the wazoo. On the subject of synths, I asked this question once and got a response to this effect... It's not about what you have, it's about how you use it, anything works, really Other than that, get an ESQ-1 +1 This "industria...
