Re: Elka Synthex: Digital Ring Modulation??
i dont know HOW the circuitry works, cause frankly, i dont really give a s**t, but i CAN tell you that its really fun and using it on both oscillators can turn the synthex into a wierd noise machine approaching the cs40m. with differing octave settings it can do some things that are sort ofhard to d...

Re: VCS 3 / Synthi AKS DIY !!!
thanks to some bitches from electro music forum... :( lets play nice. those same "bitches" come from the same world that has done more for home synth building than arguably anywhere else on the net. in short, if the "DIY synth community"( if there is such a thing) can make its case as a community t...

Frequency comp on CA3140: how to?
hi folks, so ive got a Yamaha CS-5 i've almost fully restored here. one last thing: there is a buffer IC (IC 3) that was shot in the portamento section, causing the keyboard output voltage to not pass. it was listed as a"TA7505". i couldnt find it, so the closest i could get was a pinout equivalent,...

Arp Axxe: 15V offset at VCO sliders?
hi guys, im hoping something might have some insight on my axxe. i recently stopped getting VCO outputs at the VCA out. the specs: 1- noise passes the VCF fine, and the VCF will self-oscillate. 2-all other functions have been restored to working. 3-on a scope, i actually can see the waveforms all th...

A CS80 in action.....2009.
hey folks, i figured i'd give you a heads up; here is a link to a song that is ALMOST entirely done with a CS80(of course, not the drums, vox, and glockenspiel). for free: http://fairtilizer.com/track/rjd2/games i dont mean this as any sort of shameless plug or anything. im posting this cause i figu...

Re: EDIT: Polysix: TC5514 substitute?
thanks rhino! unfortunately i just got impatient and paid 13 bucks for one on ebay. whatever. im sure that works; i have read that the 6514 is the same family as 5514. that's good to know, though; P6 restorers might have use for that info.

Re: EDIT: Polysix: TC5514 substitute?
ok, i think im closer: my next step will be to replace the TC5514 cmos ram. its an 18-pin IC. i can't find anything on mouser as a workable substitute, but im sure there are other search options im not using. what can i use? or do i really need to track down the obsolete TC5514? there's gotta be a m...

IIRC, cs15 is identical, as far as calibration purposes. not 100% sure, though.

Re: EDIT: Polysix won't write to locations. culprit?
so i have been over this KLM367 board for weeks now, and verified all of the traces around IC 30 and31 were repaired. i have 2 pairs of 74LS08 IC's, and i've tried both pairs, with the same results. all the other issues with the machine seem to be resolved, and initially, the machine allowed me to w...

Re: Micromoog - $50 Craigslist!
1-you can swap s-trig jack for 1/4" and convert right to what-IIRC-is a pos V trigger. 2-bad news on CV: the micro runs on .8V/oct, not 1v/oct. yes, its dumb. yes, you'd need to scale it down. the good news is that a simple circuit can be built and installed inside the unit to do this. the bad news ...
