Re: Alternative controller for Roland MKS-70

Does the BCR2000 do dual-byte sysex? I think some of the MKS control requires two sysex words.

Re: Alternative controller for Roland MKS-70

Well, the Peavey PC1600x is an old favorite. I used my Mackie Control Universal, but I wouldn't recommend it.

But, what's wrong with the PG-800? It's the right tool for this particular job.

Re: What to do with a dead Nord Modular engine?

Slap some wheels on it and drag your offspring around in it?

Re: the complete dx7 II - howard massey

I hate to be the internet cop here, but, the book is still copyrighted, no? Has anyone contacted Howard for his consent to redistribute his work?

Also, there's a copy of this book available on eBay right now.

Re: Yamaha's Drum Machines

1. FYI: forumite "ComputerControlled" is selling his RY30 right now.

2. I am really intrigued with that MIDIbox FM, but, I'm not up to the task of building it. If someone wants to build one for me, for a (really small) fee, PM me.

Re: Small Mixers And Synths

I'm sorry but I really don't understand why recording through a mixer is wrong. Is this really what is implied? Would my Poly-800 sound more professional when played through a tube compressor and a Neve strip? Or alternatively, when did going straight to the soundcard become some sort of a standard...

New question: can the Vermona DRM-1 MKIII provide as good bass drum sounds as the MBase01?

Re: Mungo Enterprises dDS drum synth

Maybe it's just the bad economy talking, but it seems a bit on the pricey side.

But, it looks and sounds pretty nice. Of course, you need to be a "EE" to understand the UI.....
