Re: Roland JD-800 vs Korg iM1

Nicely said, both complementing each other well. Typical Korg + Roland combo of the 90s. I own the JD-990 which is the module version and it sounds different enough compared to the 01R/W or M1 Legacy. Specially with the hands on control of the keyboard version.

I'm using the KP Quad as a master fx during live performance. Love the playability of the unit and it sounds great with synth. I'm also using the old Boss FZ-2 with the NL2x, just to add some analog character.

Re: Windows version of Microkorg editor?

I saw the .dmg files on the top section. Seems like they didn't update the windows version anymore, so it's buried bellow.

I've been waiting for something like the modern version of Nord micro modular with some analog components and a decent editor which can be used as a vst, for too long. A Volca modular would be very cool.

Re: Novation Bass Station vs. Waldorf Pulse

I suggest using an external midi controller such as the Behringer BCR2000 to remove this annoyance. The SBS control panel is comparatively more usable than the native Pulse interface. I own both synths (Pulse+, BS rack) and using the X-station as a controller, which works well with the three oscill...

Re: What Synth has the most Mojo?

For me it's the MS-20m for almost anything, from leads, basses, percussive and fx. But for a pure - simple bass it's the Microcon 2, Hard Bass: Pulse+, DCO Polysynth: MKS-70, Hybrid: Evolver.

Re: Rei Harakami, best user of the SC-88 pro

Great music, it's amazing what people can do with the SC engine back days. It's one of my favorite rompler. Used to collect so many midi files, just to enjoy great music using the MC-80ex (built-in SC-88pro engine). Still lusting for the SC-880 sometimes.

The regular version of Live 8 didn't include Sampler, only Simpler, Impulse and Drum Rack which could be enough for some purpose. Also if you buy Push, it always came with the Ableton 9 Intro.
