Re: How to play MIDI files through TG77?

You'll need a soft sequencer and some mastering that you' ll find on many thread on this forum.
But once you'll get it don't forget to set your tg in multi mode and check your sound list...

Re: can you identify these synths? (italo disco clips)

Hi there,
1) PPG for the bells
2) D50 for the bells and dx5 or 1 or 7 for the bass
3) Dx7 for the piano
3a) May be fairlight but they remind me some Emulator II preset

May be I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure of my answers .

Re: Staying with Roland jx8p or upgrading to Roland jx-10 ????

hi,
The jx10 is twice as powerful, I mean 2 jx8p layered or splitted giving acces to a new world of sound, listen to its presets at synthmania.com and you 'll see a peace of the jx10's potential.
The bad side is the midi part, very crappy . I' d upgrade especially if you are on a deal...

Re: What 80s songs can the EII's Marcato Strings be heard on?

I remember -the intro of Queen's "one vision". -Day of the dead OST -the fresh prince intro ( thought I tink it was more Emax or II) -Pet shop boys " you were always on my mind" -Ace of base " Wheel of fortune" - a Charles bronson 's movie (don't know the english title, may be The vigilante II , I r...

Re: Korg 707... can it do DX patches?

No way,
A korg 707 will only receive 707's sysex, no dx sysex. It won't even receive DS8 syx ( I already tried)
In another hand, the 707 can reproduce dx-type sound and even more thanks to its analog-style sliders and way of programming.

Re: Making analog-type strings on SY77

Thx for your answers, but I' m not going to spend 25 bucks in a bank, I find it too expensive, in particular to only get ideas on how to make an analogish pad. The AFM has some kind of interesting patches but definitely not matching my needs, I need to use awm but can't get a respectable result. I a...

Making analog-type strings on SY77

Hi everybody, I was looking through my yamaha sy77 banks and saw that there were no analog strings on it. I wasn't searching for a perfect recreation of jupiters or obies but something like this. I started programming the awm section but didn't succeed in . I tried with both saw wave I and II but no...

Re: Matrix 12 Vs Jx10

VCOs... Ok for me if they are more stable than the jupiter 8 I had a long time ago. So it seems to be as capable as the jx, and more programmable. In term of dynamic, attack, some told me that the jx had slow envelopes but they are ok for my purpose, are the matrix slower ?

Re: Matrix 12 Vs Jx10

I owned an ob8 a few years ago which got replaced by OP-x (reliability issues and money was a matter at that time) so this kind of sound is covered. The thing I am looking for is a synth with more personality than my roland (I love the roland sound but I'm getting bored of its sounds). I was looking...

Matrix 12 Vs Jx10

Hi, I own a jx10 but I would like to replace it by something more grainy. The only one that seems able to reproduce this kind of sound with something more is the matrix 12. I really love the "oberheim sound" and I think it could add punch and charm to my sounds especially big pads and aggressive bra...
