Re: POST ANY INTERESTING EBAY AUCTIONS HERE!!!
So I wake up this morning to find this: http://montreal.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-musical-instruments-EMS-VCS3-MK1-with-DK1-vintage-analog-synthesizer-synth-W0QQAdIdZ135461468 And I quickly send an e-mail to receive this as a response: Hi, Thanks for your inquiry. The price is $1800 , it is in perfe...

Re: Such a Shame theWavestation Didn't Have Resonant LP Filters!
And what's so unconventional about the d50s filter ? Other than you can only use it on synth waveforms which is one of the biggest mysteries in synthland. Why on earth is that ? Because it isn't a true filter, which takes an input signal and "filters" it (if it was, then it could work on the PCM wa...

Re: Such a Shame theWavestation Didn't Have Resonant LP Filters!
AFAIK resonance needed more DSP power than was readily available in synths back then. My 01/W didn't have resonant filters either. I think the first digital Korg to have resonant filters was the Prodigy or Trinity or something like that. The Roland D-50 has resonance, but its implementation of a "f...

Re: Such a Shame theWavestation Didn't Have Resonant LP Filters!
It actually has a resonant filter in the FX section. I remember using it for a bass sound. It can even be modulated. Obviously it'll only work monophonically. I agree that was the big thing missing.
Funny because i can't imagine it'll save much dsp power so i'm not sure why they omitted it.

Re: Now that's what i call a synthesizer
I remember now that the 3100 never sounded that fat because of the phase relationships between the octaves due to the dividing. Still it's my favorite analog poly ever. And i 've had quite a few including the OB-X and the Prophet 5. Did'nt care at all for the OB-X. The Prophet 5 was quite nice but ...

Re: Now that's what i call a synthesizer
The PS series uses divide down oscillator so the 3100 has 12 of them and the 3300 has 36 of them. Otherwise it's correct.

Re: Vince Clark's new studio
Also, he sold a massive amount of stuff on ebay UK... There was quite a buzz on some UK forums for a while... Very little of his gear was shipped over to the US. The stuff he sold was mostly c**p like Behringer compressors and whatnot. The only thing cool on that list was the Fairlight and it was w...

Any takes for a live setup?! "Insert cool Synthi 100 action here" Explain this to an Ebay retardo like myself (never used it, don't have an account) The buy it now price is $68,661.00 and according to that picture the highest bid is exactly that. But that can't be can it 'cause then it would have a...
