see that's the thing, i don't think it's the same as these at all, it was developed by a japanese company so i'm not sure if the sysex functionality is the same...does the max/six trak require it to be in a special mode for sysex reception? i can get the pro-8 to send a sysex dump of its current pro...

SCI Split-8 / Pro-8 - sysex control

Hi, anyone know the sysex string to set this synth to receive program/ parameter changes?

better still, does anyone know the sysex codes for this synth??

there's a dearth of info about the multi/max and six track out there...but very little on the Pro-8

When I was working at a music shop Roland released this junky thing. I notice there is some FM in the high part...are the bell sounds also FM? those little beeps that come in at 1:46...

its full on midi, just not very good at SysEx dumps.. it should work with any midi unit So it responds to CC# messages? I was always under the impression that it didn't since the JX-8P doesn't.. and since the Sysex communication is dodgy, how does the PG-800 work with it? that only transmits Sysex ...

Yep, everything looks ok. Are you taking it to a tech? If you are taking in a couple of days and want to tinker with it, you can just check outrule the powersupply board by sticking a voltmeter were it says ac out. i know nothing about electronics so thanks for the tip, i'll try that.. bump.
