Jupiter 8 is better because it's a Jupiter 8 :keys1:

I like the calm, serene precision with which she performs her tweaking.

Re: Jarre on Electronic Music and America misunderstanding:

Probably a bit harsh - I own 4 of his albums but cant't get into even one piece. Am happy to read all you can say on why I should like his music - there are enough people who like him to suggest there's something in his music - I just don't get it (genuinely) - but would love to be convinced otherw...

Re: Question about Waldorf Blofeld

I'm about to recieve a Waldorf Blofeld desktop version and wanto to use my Akai MPK261 as a MIDI controller. I've seen packages with the Blofeld that include a Keith McMillen MIDI expander. Is this necessary to use an external controller with this synth? Any feedback from anyone using a similar set...

Re: New to the world of synth-based music!

Welcome. There are many many many artists who use only synths to create their music, too many to mention, just google 'electronic music' as a starting point. It's also worth checking out places like Bandcamp, Soundcloud etc. For what it's worth here's my Bandcamp page featuring music made only with ...

Re: Suggestion for first analog synth

+1 for Ultranova, it covers so many bases & is a pad monster to boot. For a budget mono, the Minibrute or Microbrute is also a winner. Has a superbly featured mixable waveshape oscillator & a great filter (not to mention Brute Factor !).

Re: Minibrute+Blofeld for ambient sounds. Would that work?

For ambient I would recommend the Blofeld & forget about the Minibrute. You will need some outboard effects though as the Blofeld's are pretty awful (IMO). Given your budget you might want to check out a Boss VF-1 (2nd hand) as a decent all round multi-effect processor. Can be had pretty cheaply & c...

Re: Yamaha Reface

After looking into the Reface series, I'm still confused as to who they're aimed at. Out of the 4, I'd definitely be interested in the CP (but only for the CP70/80 preset). But there are CP70 sample sets out there that are more than good enough and considerably cheaper... put them on your laptop wi...

That's exactly what I felt whilst watching the vids. I think these are great little keyboards, I might even buy a couple (or more) :)

ARP Omni 2

To get a similar sound you should be able to get pretty close with a Waldorf Streichfett.
