Yeah I agree with the above. You didn't waste $160. With no adapter, I doubt if they knew what it's condition was. You gave it a shot, it's defective. Now go get your money back.

I'm sorry...I'm pretty good with Roland XPs, but I'm not much of a Rush fan. You can get external pedals to do useful analog-like things like filter cutoff and resonance sweeps, but you can also do both of those from the front panel sliders. You can actually get a lot of mileage out of just those fo...

OB brass stabs would often modulate one VCO's pitch quickly and slightly with the filter envelope, allowing it to start out but pull "in tune" rapidly against the other VCO for that stabby attack transient. You've got a pitch envelope on your 8000 so you don't have to cannibalize the filter. Congrat...

It's a D-50 spinoff. There are more paramaters in some areas like envelopes. And it's multitimbral. No chorus. Much harder to learn and come up with your own sounds because of the smaller display. If you take the time to learn it, it's actually useful as a synthesizer if you ignore it's sampled PCM ...

Any pedal labeled "control" or "expression" and having a single cord attached should work. The price usually reflects the build quality. The $20 M-Audio pedal looks awfully plastic-y. But... since you're a bass player I'm going to ask, what are you trying to do? If it's for volume, a passive in-line...

Re: Rhodes vs. Digital piano

I have one of those yamaha 88 key digital pianos that has your standard grand piano, church organ, vibraphone, and harpsichord. However, as of late i have taken particular interest in the rhodes sound and i have been considering buying an actual rhodes off of ebay. Is the authentic rhodes sound wor...

Yeah... setting MIDI channels on Rolands has always been more work than it should be. If you are in patch mode, you've got to go into system to find it, but if you are in performance it's a part edit. It's not consistent. And... the Fantom interface is not as easy as it should be anyway. You've got ...

A few thought on a few things of mine... Maxi-Korg You are so quirky and unconventional. I learned to program on you, which screwed me up for years. DX7 I used you so much, but never completely took to your sound. You were around because everyone else I was involved with at the time thought a lot of...

I use these monitor stands: http://www.americanmusical.com/item--i-MUS-SMS6000.html# Now don't shine this off because they're speaker stands, man... I do hundreds of club gigs with my laptop every year, I've tried all kinds of things, and these work the best. They are really solid, that triangular b...

Has the Korg Radias bombed? Well it did at $1600. I'd say that the price drop was to save a sinking ship. Will it now survive? I think that depends on whether enough people figure out how to really use it. It is a giant step from a generic VA like the MS2000. My limited experience on one in a showr...

Re: Prophet 5 sell price I was around back then. In Seattle anyway, during the rev2 period (but we had no name for it back then) they were still in short supply, and most paid list or maybe a little more... around $4500. With the rev3 I'm pretty sure there was a list price drop of $500, but I know t...
