Here's my baby. I love it so much I put it on my CD cover. To your point, every Pro-One owner will tell you that the build quality sucks, along with the keys. (That's why Kenton invented the Pro-Solo!) But the sound is great, the mod matrix is great, the sequencer/arp is cool and it's well laid out ...

Yes this particular synth was in great shape and came with the original arp pedals but I just felt violated! I was totally prepared for $1300-$1500 but not that. And now there is that CMS white face with the light up sliders! WOW does that look hot. I'm sure it will sell for a million gilliondy doll...

Following up on my own post:

Just for the record, the ody I was looking at sold for $2550! That is by far the most I've ever seen one go for. I know they are classics but yikes. Guess I don't need another mono after all. :(

Arp Odyssey Filter Confusion

So I've finally decided to add an Odyssey to my set up. I know that there were 3 basic kinds but I just discovered there were at least 12 different revisions within those 3. I also have conflicting info on which filter number has the cutoff problem and even which model sounds the best. So does anybo...

Just a quick note on this (and correct me if I'm wrong) according to the book Analog Days, there was never actually a lawsuit between Moog and ARP. Yes, ARP encased their filter in resin, which made it almost impossible to get at. But Bob, though a genius, was not a great business man and they never...

It's so rare that these come up on ebay that I had to post it here. It took me over a year to find mine and I hope this helps out anybody looking for one (especially in CA). http://cgi.ebay.com/Korg-Maxi-Korg-K3-800DV-Vintage-Synthesizer-1975_W0QQitemZ230176159036QQihZ013QQcategoryZ38089QQssPageName...

Congrats on the JUP6. I love mine...it can sound super evil. And wait until you get Europa! Midi sync an arpeggio in unison mode and it just rocks. And the random patch generator can be really sweet as well. The only bummer is you can't sync the LFO. It's the one thing the amazing Europa dudes could...

Great pics dirk! I love the way most of them share the same sliders/colors. The sliders look metal on the 700S are they? Also, I've contacted other owners about putting midi in the 800DV what's your advice?

cheers

There is actually another name, the Korg K3! As far as I know they are all the same synth and it was rebranded as different things when Korg bought Univox. I am lucky enough to own one of these. Mine is labled the Univox Maxi-Korg. This synth was recommended to me by Peter Forest, the author of the ...

Just for the record, The Dead and Don Buchla were friends. He made gear for them and other people (Janis/Big Brother) during the acid/trips festivals era. There are quite a few mentions of it in "Analog Days". Here's a commentary from one of those shows: Ken Babbs (From 'Taping Compendium'): We had ...

Solina Sticky Keys

So i finally managed to find an ARP Solina. Although electronically it works well, there are a lot of keys that stay down once depressed. Now I opened her up to take a look at the key assembly and it seems like the metal arms attatch to a plastic piece that goes down underneath another piece and I c...

As far as I know, no versions of "The Maxipad" have CV/gate options. However, I reached to fellow owner insky on this matter and this is where he pointed me. "The MIDI JACK II from Synhouse is what you want to use to midi your 800DV. Although it doesn't claim to support the 800dv they explain in the...

What? No Voyager bashing?

I read the whole thread and didn't see any of the usual "What's so great about MOOG?" comments. Shame on you guys!

Hey, I just happened to find this vid the other day and I thought I'd share it. It gives a pretty nice example of what the mod does and how it effects the sound. Personally, I don't think the mod would decrease the value. In fact, if I ever bought one, I'd want (and pay more for) one with the mod al...

great pics! I was so scared going into that city of wires and boards and chopping out the motherboard but the Europa people and their mod is absolutely genius. Too bad about no LFO sync but otherwise it turns the 6 into an analog beast with modern features. Don't forget to try the random patch gener...
