I agree with you Syn303 - LESS IS MORE. But I like older gears better than new ones because newer gears (read synth's/samplers) use to be cluttered with too many features that I don't understand, need, or even are aware of - which make the instrument too complicated and it ends up making me less cre...

AstroDan: Ebay's big enough now, they really need to set up some third party shipping/receiving/cash on delivery type service. As in: I send the item I just sold to the Transaction Center, and the buyer sends the payment to the Transaction Center, and someone there says "Item looks good. Payment lo...

I use to own an ESQ-1 longtime ago, but I needed money (poor student at that time) so I sold it for few hundred bucks (counted in $US dollars). The only thing I've got left from it is a cassettetape (original) with factory presets. I once had to use it to reload the presets because the battery was w...

I had to format the CF-card so that the sampler could find it. I connected both units - the original SCSI HD and the CF-card in a SCSI chain with a flat ribbon SCSI cable internally and that way formated the CF card, copied sampler OS to it, and transfered all audio files from the HD to CF. It's muc...

As I pointed out on another thread in this sampler forum: I replaced my SCSI HD with a CF-card internally. I bought an SCSI -> IDE adapter (AEC-7720U) from http://www.acard.com and an IDE -> CF adapter on eBay, connected them and installed a 1GB CF-card with no problem (it was little tricky at first...

If you like minidisc's consider the new HI-MD players were you can record in PCM format - no compressed audio files like the older MD-players\recorders. I think you can use ordinary MD's with it. Download the latest SonicState software if you go for the Sony one - no restrictions when it comes to tr...

As read on http://www.emulatorarchive.com/Repairs/repairs.html I guess you need to go for the real stuff  If you don't mind the color of the front bezel of the 'eBay'-drive - which cost half as much as a drive from http://www.hometown.aol.com/mishon66/Drives1.html ( $74.00) - take it! At least...

Working copy of Emulator III Remote Control Software?
Does anyone have a working copy of EIII Remote Controller & Librarian software for Macintosh computers? The one that can be downloaded from www.emulatorarchive.com seems to be corrupted. :( Since it's no longer in development and supported it's hard to find. If someone know where I can find a copy p...

Recently I managed to get hands on an Emulator III rack. It came with a 350mb SCSI harddrive that sounds terrible! Very high freqency noise that are sooo annoying that you don't even want to turn the darn thing on! So I started to look around on the web to find a silent solution and I thought of rep...

I can use the sample unit - without the audio/monitoring-cable - for sampling but the sampled sound is very weak and I don't hear much. When I solder it to the audioboard - and I've double checked the soldered connections - all the sounds, even the internal ones disappear and I only hear noise. And ...

Need help with corrupted sample cable for K2000 V3
Awhile ago I bought a Kurzweil K2000 synthezeiser and it came with the SMP-K sampler unit. Now, the cables for the sampler unit were not installed so I opened the keyboard and followed the instructions on how to connect the cables (data-cable and the monitoring-cable). The problem is (I found out by...
